and they still won't put back the chronological hashtag search...
Who needs hashtags in 2025? Afaik Meta had been minimizing the hashtags usage for more than 5 years already since those were often used for spam activities. They actually have AI-powered search now, check it out. I am able to find videos which I forgot to save or like just by some silly description, seems to work better than Google search

First WhatsApp then Insta - they are really racing innovation these days at Meta

You gotta give Insta a try another day but register completely new account. No friends, no people who know you, just for stuff you actually like to watch. This way you will re-tune the algorithm.

This describes how awful IG has become after Meta’s purchase. IG used to be about photos by friends and non-friends. Now it’s video ads, videos of some extreme nature or another, and then an occasional interesting photo.

Sadly it’s no surprise. “Facebook” by definition was/should be about friends first. Now it’s ads and revenue generation first.

Took them long enough! Can’t wait to use Instagram on the iPad without it looking tiny and weird.

no thanks, i’ll stick with the pwa and my pihole setup. The ads on the native app are beyond disappointing as it is.

If you going to create an app that will f**ck you over anyway, i’ll choose the most lucrative option if i have to. thanks apple pwa

Finally WhatsApp and Instagram on iPad, two apps which are a no brainer to create and perfect for large screens that unfortunately took decades to arrive!

Once the iPad by the time of the time of the iPad Pro models from 2017 got really nice rear camera sensors, Meta (then called Facebook) should have release an iPad version of Instagram. I think Meta is doing it now because of that the code for a possible version for the Vision Pro could be adapted for an iPadOS version.

I probably deleted 15 Instagram accounts over the last 13 years but every time came back anyway, sometimes comebacks didn’t last more than 5 days🤣 Recently they have done some updates to both algorithm and under-the-hood that actually make app fun to use.

Also serves as a digital photo archive for me, I like adding music to my photos, hopefully they finally added this feature and you no longer receive bans for adding music
Funny you say that because this was a second account.

I made this account specifically not to add friends but to add my interests such as surfing, snowboarding and skateboarding. I was also using it as an addition to language learning and history learning.

It still became chaotic 🥲. Maybe not who I was directly following but my suggestions always became chaotic.

I can see why you'd get rid of one after a week. 😂

The algorithm is cancer. It's worse then a drug pusher IMO.
