So the in-app purchase is charged to my iTunes account credit card correct? Or is it a semi-sneaky way for Facebook/IG to grab your credit card details….and track you more?

I was recently offered 20% off my 1st in-app purchase of any item from IG, no way!

What do you think? I'd wager it's the last two. Facebook is like a sticky booger: anything that it touches, it wants to stay attached, or leave a little of itself smeared there. Like those 'boogers' that companies use to seal mailed spam. Some of that stuff is so tenacious!!! It's hard to make sure you got it all...

Anything Facebook connected seeks to monetize YOU, the user. YOU are the product, YOU are the tracked, exploited, used... Giphy *might* be the odd Facebook virion that Facebook hasn't activated, but it sucks enough, I'm sure.

I used to like Instagram when it was ad-free. Obviously those good times weren't sustainable but I liked having a stash of my favourite pics that I could share with family. What I would have liked/would like is a a subscription where I can just pay not to have advertising. Currently I just click each ad and say I've already bought one just to screw with their AI.
