What type and year of Mac are you trying to do this on and are you using the Aluminum keyboard? My Mac Mini won't recognize keystrokes from bootup on the Apple aluminum keyboard. This is a pain because I dual boot Tiger and Snow Leopard. The reason it does not recognize keystrokes on bootup is because of the Mini firmware. Any other keyboard works just fine not the aluminum. Seriously try a different keyboard, that was what Apple told me.

Just updated my uMBP with an 160GB Intel SSD as only internal drive; no issues beside that it took quite some time to install SL. I actually will do it once again after checking the firmware of the SSD on a Windows PC.
But after restart no issues; works as expected. The SSD was fresh from the box; nothing was installed before.

I partion it in the external but not working still

How do i get the option to partition it again ?

To install OSX on a brand new drive, you boot off the DVD and then you launch Disk Utility to format and partition. You won't see an unformatted/brand new drive off of the boot options because it is not bootable.

Ok i did it!!!!!!!

It works but takes like 40 secs to start
First 30 secs is a white screenAnd then the apple comes up

But everything eles is so fast
