I accidentally backed up my iOS7 GM onto iCloud after the update when I plugged it in :/

I think you'll be OK until the 18th. Your phone is backing up to iCloud so you're covered. I don't back up pictures to iCloud and prefer to plug my phone into the PC and copy them (and the videos) using Windows Explorer. Photostream has me covered there if something happens to the phone. You can still buy and update apps, and when iTunes has an update you'll be able to transfer your purchases from the phone. Heck, you might even be able to set iTunes to automatically download when you purchase from the phone.

I rely on iCloud as my daily backup, and then I back up to iTunes about once a month when I think about it "just in case".

Somit sounds like you already have a backup then.

Any ideas if there will be issues updating iOS 7 GM to the public version via iTunes 11.1 (when it is release publicly)? That's the only thing that I am afraid of.

If i have the ios 7 final beta, do I have to take it off in order to get the final version of iOS when it comes out?

I'm so sorry to sound so paranoid.

Is it somehow possible to transfer music to iOS 7 GM on Windows 8? I wanna go for a fresh install.

Not with iTunes 11.0.5. If you have iTunes Match you can download songs to the phone.

Not to be nosey, but why a fresh install? This question is bouncing around in a couple of other threads. And it's OK if the answer is, "Because". :)

The GM version that was released today is the version that will be released to the pubic next week (barring any major bugs). The final iOS 7 beta was beta 6.

It's best practice to not update from beta to GM but folks are reporting here they did it with no issues.

well I gotta admit it's the because answer :D mhh I'm curious if third party software will work..

I'd be able to use a macbook but all of my music is on the pc and beside of that when 11.1 will be available for windows, itunes is going to annoy me with "not linked to this libary" messages..

I see. I actually updated mine straight from iOS 7 beta 6 to GM and there were no issues. My main worry is the update from GM to the publicly released one.

GM is the publicly released one. If there will be an update to that you will get it as well.

Downgrading back to ios 6?

if u are on windows is it possible to put your ios 7 GM into DFU and downgrade without iTunes 11.1?????:confused::apple:

Guys I'm a little bit lost here.

Since I don't have the latest itunes beta and I'm running on windows 7, I understand that I won't be able to sync my iPhone. But if I do the shift + check for update, it will keep my settings and apps so I won't be needing to sync? or I'd still unable to keep all my settings and apps?

Also when the official iOS 7 came out, do I need to re-install or it would be exactly the same build with the official one? Including the version number?

Yes to your first question and the GM is the same as the public release. It will act the same and allow you to update to 7.0.1 etc.

As has been repeatedly stated, in windows, shift & update will work and keep all settings. GM is same as official next week, same build, unless something disastrous is discovered, but that'll probably be an OTA update.

Alright guys, thank you so much
