Buy now and/or buy when cheap
none of apples hardware is ever worth waiting for "Latest and greatest" tell that to all the iphone owners who overpaid and didn't even get what they paid for now 3g is out and cheaper than the previous iphone

im not bashing
im just saying it would be wiser to buy a refurb and save 500 than being broke
and having a laptop that may be marginally faster but is still not fast enough

the new MacBook should be more than just a speed boost.

And the iPhone 3g after a 2yr contract with ATT is more expensive than the first iphone.

Vista is NOT bad. Everyone says it is from first-hand experience, yes the original RTM was bad, then everybody says it's bad. If people would just learn how to use Vista properly, it basically meets OS X functionality for most things average people do, like e-mail, photo album, calender, internet, a few games ,etc. (flames are bound to be coming) I've had no problems with Vista (on Acer desktop, not dual boot MBP) , in fact I'm using it right now. No viruses if you install a free A-V (avast). bad? Thanks.
I have had a few PCs running Vista, the last one I am getting random Blue screens....way to often

My concerns are, metal thru the case Bad wifi, LED screen yellowing Checked them out at best buy last night, MBP and air have it, Black keyboard bad for my bad eyes....so bought cureent lowend model, got the free ipod touch, sell the touch final cost 667 + tax... if the new one comes out and love it I can sell it for that much or more.

I finally gave in after waiting for some time and I can honestly say I've never been happier :)

BlackBook in the mail!

I've got my brand new blackbook coming tomorrow!

Obviously I couldn't wait either. I tried...

My only wish is that it came with 1 x 2GB RAM instead of 2 x 1GB. I have an extra gig of RAM left over from my iMac. It would have been nice to bump it up to 3 gigs right off the bat. When I inevitably max out the RAM in my MacBook I'll have 3 x 1GB sticks rattling around with no computer to put them in

Oh and applecare to deal with some of the pesky issues that have been cropping up.

Anyway no regrets. I love the current design, and I could use one right now. Who knows, maybe I won't be thrilled with the new revision...but I kind of doubt it. Either way, what's done is done and I can't wait until tomorrow.

:D

As for me, I hate waiting. If the *soon to be introduced* macbook looks awesome, I'll try and sell my current one and get the new one. It's worth a 100-200 dollar loss for me, after all I'll have had half a year of good use out of this one by then.

sure, 6 months isn't worth waiting for, but a few weeks is.

I dont see why not, the current macbooks has been perfected over the last 2 years so it has a real good performance/quality right now imo.

Also the new macbooks will have a totally new case design and I feel very iffy about this and rather wait another 2 years for that model macbook with nehalem specs to be updated and perfected as well.

I just bought the white macbook a week ago loaded it up with a 7200rpm hdd, 4gb of ram + connected to the 23" ACD and it works beautifully and fast too.

And I'm coming from a person who owned the mac pro that is on my sig. These macbooks are freakishly fast especially for its price.

Trust me on this, If you want the new macbooks decide now because you would have to sell it now to lose that $100-$200. You wont be able to sell your current macbook with a 100-200 dollar loss once the new macbooks are out.

If you bought your blackbook for $1399 with student discount that comes up to $1514 after tax and the moment the new macbooks are out you will be able to scrounge up around $1000-$1100 after ebay fees and paypal fees and shipping at best and at least a $450 loss.

Also the same goes for the macbook pro, I remember when I had my macbook pro the 2.4ghz model which was the middle model that costed me $2489 with student discount total and once the new penryn macbook pros were released I sold my model a few weeks later for $1900 which was about $500 dollar loss.

That's essentially how I felt. Now is just a good time for me. I'll be on the go for the next couple of weeks.

Awesome! I seriously can't wait. It is getting delivered to my work. I'm going to be chomping at the bit to get out of there. So how was replacing the hard drive? I looked at the guide and it seems pretty straight forward. Are you going to sell the original one or keep it for some other project?
