Have Intel used actual production laptops in these types of ads before? I know Intel have produced some concept laptops just for show rather than production (or practicality, that pictured laptop is far too thin to have any decent battery).

EDIT: head over to www.intel.com for a real laptop (looks like a Vaio) but not the one pictured above.

16:9 screen, and looks like a black HP product, not bad. it has that signature apple screen reflection/lighting going diagonally across the screen too. could be interesting:)

It doesn't say Macbook Pro below the screen, so this is likely a laptop from someone else.

And isn't it really thin if it wants to have a dedicated GPU and HDD?

If that is the new MBP, it doesn't look like it has an optical drive or HDD.

I like it, regardless if it is a stock generic laptop.

There is no way this is NOT apple.
Look at the screen and volume bar...
and the indicator light

Too many similarities to dismiss. Even the light reflection is identical. The bottom bevel looks exact also. The bottom thickness definitely seems decreased. I'm actually kinda busy at work and don't have the time to scale the images up for a comparison. Maybe someone else could oblige, please.

I think the person/people who put the mock-up laptop together were heavily influenced by Apple's notebooks, but made it black to avoid making it too obvious.

Safe bet that the 2011 MBP will still be silver aluminum.

Introducing the all new MacBook Pro, it's even thinner than the MacBook Air we released 5 months ago!

Does anyone remember when intel leaked the i5 mpb? In that ad, the mpb also looked black. I think it will still be silver, but maybe (hopefully) with this form factor!

the bezel is thinner which would be good, and actual machine thickness (the bottom portion is the same, but it has more internal volume for components by the look of it, its not so tapered on the bottom.

Now that'd be hot.
Without the optical drive they can make it thinner :D
