Broadwell-H, 4C + GT2, 2C + GT3e, 4C + GT3e: May-Jun 2015 [likely chips for the MBP].

Have fun waiting.

Does that mean? The Broadwell Chips in the Retina Macbook 15 Inch will not see the light of the day before June-2015  is that what it is ? Gosh  I have been waiting just for Apple to release Broadwell Chips in the rMBP so I can buy my first ever, first ever Apple Macbook in Life ! Man ! That sounds too Far ! What am I gonna till all that time

Broadwell-Y, 2C + GT2: Sep-Oct 2014,
Broadwell-U, 2C + GT2: Oct-Nov 2014,
Broadwell-U, 2C + GT3: Feb-Mar 2015 [likely chips for the MBA],
Broadwell-H, 4C + GT2, 2C + GT3e, 4C + GT3e: May-Jun 2015 [likely chips for the MBP].

Nice. Thanks for the info. It's good to see some data and away from the usual speculation.

I'm not so good with chips tech so feel free to school me. Is it possible that Apple will use the Y series for the rumored fanless MBA? That will make the units ready in time for the holiday shopping season. And why are the U series GT3 likely what Apple will use for the next Air and not the GT2 ones?

Boy, the MBPs are quite far off. If this leak is to have credence, we'll see a slight Haswell bump soon to soften the long waiting time. And the MR members whining will continue. :D

A fanless notebook (using Intel chips) is likely to use the Y-series, and anything with higher TDPs would most likely be unsuitable.

In terms of the U-series, Apple uses Haswell-U GT3 in the MBAs instead of the Haswell-U GT2 for better graphics within the same TDP. It would be reasonable to assume that Apple would choose Broadwell-U GT3 over GT2, assuming that the MBAs will still use U-series chips in the next update. Also, the fanless MacBook rumor doesn't specifically state that the fanless notebook is an MBA from what I can tell (although it seems reasonable that it would be an MBA or MBA successor).

I'm certainly hoping for a U series successor if it means we wont skimp on power and hopefully an Iris Pro 2. But of course, a fanless Y series machine will be selling like hotcakes as the average joe won't worry about fan noise as they browse Facebook on a retina screen with 15 hours of battery life.

Appreciate the good info. Thanks again.

A schedule like that means we won't be seeing Skylake until 2016, almost 2 years late. I blame AMD.

neat, just in time for xmas :)

Nope, there are no guarantees at this point. Apple moves at its own pace. All we have and all we can look forward to are news about the chips and their availability. Sometimes Apple moves ahead everyone else (first MBA and last year's) and sometimes they take their time due to component or other reasons.

After seeing Intel's ETA, all we can do is hope.

Oh that is weird. (I heard something a while ago about Skylake not being delayed, but I kinda ignored that lately.) It reminds me a bit of the Penryn/Nehalem situation in 2009.

If I'm reading it right we could see the iMac go from Haswell refresh to Skylake in one update, which would be a pretty decent jump.

I think I will be waiting for Haswell-E on the desktop front just to get DDR4. It's rather distressing using my 16 GB of DDR3 all over again after buying it in 2010.
