Intel X25M SSD - OEM or Retail?

I have the OEM drive, and it comes with the warranty paperwork.

OEM for laptop, retail for Desktop as the diff is you get a 3.5" rack.

If you bought retail for your Macbook Pro I'm afraid you just forced me to call you stupid, but your sig only has an iMac so you're fine lol.

You know you can get cheap 2.5"--->3,5" adapters for a couple of $$ on ebay, right?

It's stupid to base your decision between OEM and Retail on the 3.5" rack that you can get nearly for free on ebay.

Well I just got off the phone with Intel and gianly1985 is correct. You have no warranty with the bare OEM box. If you have problems you have to try and deal with the reseller. With the retail version you get the full three years directly from Intel. I just printed out a return label from Amazon for the drive and am heading to UPS in a few minutes. All this hassle to save ten dollars and now the retail version is sixteen dollars more than it was last week. Buy the retail. Let me be the test dummy.

So is Newegg lying about the OEM drive warranty status? It lists the same warranty info for both the retail and OEM versions.
