When has Apple ever released a product, and then had a software update (a very major one too,) and then not either changed the box or released a new product to accommodate the new software? Example: First gen iPhones. They can run 2.0, but Apple released the 3G to accommodate the software, and I don't believe Apple changed the first gen iPhone boxes after the release of 2.0.

Apple didn't change the box because the first gen iPhones were discontinued 2 months before 2.0 came out. So no first gen iPhones shipped with 2.0.

They updated the first gen boxes to show the iTunes Store and the ability to have more than one home screen! Also, the calculator icon was updated on the first gen boxes... however, the hardware stayed the same.

I think I get your point, but I don't think it tells us anything about a new model.

Some people seriously need to chill. It's an opinion. Agree or disagree and be polite. It's not a race.
