Intermittent Kernel Panics

I've just reinstalled the filesystem again. I've just realised the only thing I installed again was FaceTime. Taken it back off and its stopped KP again. Could it be possible that facetime beta is clashing with one of the VMware Kext?

I'll take it back in tomorrow and get them to replace it anyway, otherwise i will feel like i'm living on the edge with this machine. it could KP at any point, want it sorted before apple care runs out.

Yea that is certainly possible. Mac OS betas also regularly have problems with VMWare or Parallels kexts.

I understand how you have lost faith in your computer 😉 I have had issues like that many times myself. If you get it replaced and the KP continued however it is certain that it happens through some combination of software you have installed. Software that interacts with the kernel is always on the top of the list of possible ****ups. And I haven't had good experiences with VMware myself...

it was something to do with the logic board and the last ram i had combined. the ram should of worked but didn't with the i7.
so i have new apple certified with i7 DDR3 and my dad is using the old 8gb DDR3 in his 13" mbp.

everything seems okay now, took both laptops to the genius and they had a good look at the ram and everything SHOULD of worked. no one can explain why perfectly in spec ram just didn't work.
i find it very strange that on a whole the ram passed every test i threw at it, that prime one, the apple hardware tests, extended, all the genius tests. but when i swap the ram, with anything but the kingston stuff, working. and the kingston stuff works in core 2 duo MBP. really weird.
so for the record - kingston DDR3 ram doesn't work with the i7.

Weird how all the tests didn't find anything. But yes, it was basically incompatible RAM I suppose.

Thanks for all the help you offered me anyway, lets hope this laptop lives to serve me for years to come now.

Kernel Panic, . Switch and you tube

Can some one help me It seems I can search the web but when it comes to
You tube My Macbook Pro shuts down and reboots I have all the latest flash updates. This is a 2006 model so a older one this all it seems to do can some help also I am getting a switch board and some kernel panics. I took it to the mac store and they said all is fine board is ok so what could be the problem Help please.
