iOS 10 is such a disappointment, why?

Untill that time people without iOS10 and/or 3D touch can use widgets like Launcher to get quickly access (still a few actions needed though instead of a switch) to Wifi connections, turn on/off cellular data and turn on/off low power mode.
It seems that developers should launch updates to fix their widgets to see the complete widget.

An option to show both notification and widgets on the lockscreen immediately would be even better in my opinion! Instead of scrolling on your lockscreen to see widgets. I'm happy that you can still use widgets from the Notification Center when you are in an app like we now have in iOS8/9. I did read that it does take you an extra tap (you won't open Today and see widgets as we now have) immidiately to get there though.
I also hope that the new widget can be made smaller so you have enought space to see multiple widgets and e.g. icons in the case of Launcher like we now can with iOS9. The margins around the widget are pretty big by looking at all screenshots I've seen. I would also hope that there comes an option to remove the huge time and date in both Notification Center and lockscreen to see more of your widgets (and notifications).

Sounds like a great option. I would rather see music controls implemented in Control Center main view and not scroll an extra time to get the larger music control UI.

Have you even tried iOS 10? Its a lot better than it looks, really. I was skeptical about it at first, but when I used it I liked it. The ADs in the app store is really the only turn off.
I'm sorry, but if you don't like the way the new lock-screen is, I can't help but sense a lot of ignorance from you. Its a lot better than it looks, when you actually use it.
That one swipe in control center for music, is nothing more than nice. When you close the control center from the music pane, it opens the music pane back up when you open the control center again. Its really nothing more than a mini player.
Ads in the App Store, yeah its a little ridiculous, but its purpose is to show you things you may have never looked at. Its not random Ads advertisers payed to have featured.
The "ugly" headlines aren't really that bothersome, and I'm sure you can probably do something about them in the future.

Why do I get the feeling those screaming ugly and disappointed the loudest are ones who either aren't running the beta or have spent very little time with it? Seems like a lot of knee jerk reaction; 5 seconds after seeing some screen shots it's declared fugly and ooh I hate it blah blah blah. I'm reserving judgement until I've actually used it for a period of time.

The new login screen is nice for devices with TouchID, but there are devices without TouchID or some cases where the TouchID is not used: like my iPad Air 2 at home. I just want to open my Smart Cover and if there are notifications I want to slide to unlock to my home screen. To Press the the Homebutton is on the iPad for me uncomfortable, because the device is so large.
Apple should just add an option that you can go back slide to unlock if you need it.
I would use the new lock screen on my iPhone and the old one on my iPad.
They added an extra swipe for a non functional feature. Solution would be easy too: Add on option "compact control center" and everybody would be happy. I'm not the only one who dislikes the new control center because of the non functional extra swipe.

Pure comedy. If pressing the home button on an iPad is uncomfortable for you , you must not make very much use of the iPad. One app which you never exit? No use of the home screen?
You're forgetting the multi touch gestures. Five finger pinch to home.

True. You can do that and you can swipe to switch instead of entering multitasking. Nevertheless the notion that an iPad is "too big" to comfortably hit the home button is is pretty laughable (and a cursory glance at YouTube will show endless toddlers and children somehow managing it), especially for someone tackling bagpipes in their avatar. It's reaching for a problem that simply doesn't exist. If there's a physical disablement there that's what assistive touch and all the other assistive technologies are there for.
The new unlock screen is an improvement for everyone.

I don't know. I am pretty excited for iOS 10. I was pretty excited for everything they announced. But thats just me. I understand other people have different hopes and dreams. =]
i'm on the ios 10 beta and i'm not super excited about it as it still visual looks like ios 7 still with a few minor tweaks and some of the things apple had added and changed i won't use a lot of them but some i will so for me it's about 50/50

Nope, iOS 10 looks much better. There is zero contrast in that mockup and it all blends together into a meaningless blur. Much like iOS 9.

There were ads in the App Store when I was running iOS 9, so it's not only iOS 10.

It's new to iOS 10 that an ad for an app will show up above the top search result when doing a search. (The advertised app is supposed to be somewhat relevant to either your search or something like that.)

I've just updated my SE to iOS10 Public Preview and for the first time with an iPhone, Notifications and Widgets are actually useful. I can check lots of things, deal with notifications, and even add calendar appointments without even unlocking the phone. It's taken a long time for Apple to catch up with Android on these functions and they generally work very well even though this is only Public Beta 1. Sometimes my Widgets fail to populate with info but a switch off/switch on seems to deal with that and I presume this will be ironed out with updates.
I'm missing a slightly bigger screen on the SE, but the great battery life makes up for that and I haven't noticed any hit on battery from the beta software.

Well how it even works, for starters. Sometimes I'll hold my thumb down for Touch ID and it seems to open to the home screen. Other times it seems to recognize the print but still requires ‘press home to open’, other times it seems to bring up the passcode screen no matter what. I can't seem to get it consistent and it’s irritating me.
