I completely disagree with you, but by your logic golf would not be on the list either. Some people go to a bowling ally to drink, others to bowl. The former is not an exercise but the latter certainly is.
Correct. Golf and bowling are more leisure activities in my opinion. Obviously calories are burned while doing them, but not enough to be "exercise" in my book. And for what it's worth, I went to the bowling alley to bowl AND drink. It's a good combination if you do it right.

It would be better for Apple to put a zapper into the back of the watch so you eat less.

Two groups:

On an island with every piece of exercise equipment at their disposal. And they use it.

On an island with only healthy food options with portions monitor for each person. They don't exercise much, if not at all.

Food intake island wins this one in a landslide. Health aspect of the watch should address food intake, somehow.

I was actually kinda surprised about the lack of workout activity options available when I first opened the workout app. This is long over due, but they may have taken it a bit far in some places (i.e. fishing, bowling, curling) yet not far enough in others (combining skateboarding, rollerblading, and ice skating into one category). The only reasons I could see for this being so late coming are that they’ve been taking their sweet time to perfect the algorithms (which would imply that they will be best-in-class) and/or the new Apple Watch has a better array of sensers. Either way These workouts are going to be an exciting new addition!

Bowling? Talk about dumbing down what qualifies as "exercise." Does lifting the beer pitcher count too? Ha.

Agreed. It's a game of chance. ;-)

I've been waiting for to get Apple Watch until it has matured a bit - and I think this time around it may finally be ready for me. Improved battery life would definitely be deciding factor. Also more independent use without phone. Oh, and skating exercise definitely.

Bowling is not a game of chance at all - except maybe for those that only bowl infrequently, but that could be said about almost any game for casual players.

Unless the golfer is walking the course with his/her clubs it's not exercise either and certainly not a cardio exercise unless you are in really poor condition or really old.

In bowling, using two balls, you throw the second ball to hit the remaining pins just as the gate comes up after the first throw. I can do about ten games in a hour and then collapse. It is best to rent the lane by the hour. It doesn't count unless you average at least 200.

I'd imagine they would have announced this at WWDC. If they didn't then it is likely exclusive to Series 3

I think iOS 11 beta needs one more before final release. Probably not though since it’s close to the event.

Taking 2 steps to your ball, then lifting up a 12lb ball in the same hand every single time, taking another 5 steps while chucking the ball, stand for a few seconds, then take 7 steps back to seat. Sit. Repeat after a few more minutes.

That's exercise? Taking a few steps to throw out your arm doesn't sound like good exercise to me. I don't like golfing, but at least the majority of golfers I know walk, and they're also outside.

and no sex activity?
I believe that falls under strength training depending on the positions used, otherwise cardio is always a good all around go to.

This feature already exist in the beta versions. Just select "other" and once you complete the workout you can select one of these options.

Seems you don't have a clue what this is about.. It actually encourages outdoor activity!

Actually, I have a clue - just watch this short video from 5 years ago... this is where it is all going:

What is FRIGHTENING is we are just a few short years away from this crap - thanks to Apple and their new Augmented Reality engine.

Actually, the technology featured in this movie is ready to go right now. The culture creation industry needs a few years to trick us into accepting this crap.

Orwell is whacking off in his grave as I speak - smiling ear to ear.

This is all good and well, but it's still so lame that the Apple Watch does not auto-pause when stopped during outdoor cycling.
