Sailing? Really now. How about something for an average person or something kids can use, like oh...sit-ups and push-ups. It's sort of unbelievable that these kinds of basic exercise activities are still not supported by Apple Watch.

Is it just me or do these screen shots look absolutely terrible? They are 1980' style graphics in 2017. Apple is pathetic in their insistence on using minimal color and details on their icons. Please hire a person that cares about the GUI experience.

Its you. Most folks care more about substance over style. So they will over look the GUI and '1980s style graphics' if the system works. and given that it's health one would hope that Apple is more worried about that as well. Cause there are some serious failings with the whole Health app. slightly forgivable since its still relatively new but not if they aren't constantly trying to improve it, improve communication with 3rd party apps etc.
 
I was about to complain about not being able to link workouts, but it looks like they are including that feature, that's awesome. They need a good UI though, something with a ton of info but clean and easy to use like MotiFit.
 
Still waiting on weight training.... its the only workout i actually like and regularly do.
Has been available since iOS1, choose Open. At the end of your workout name your workout Strength Training.

Watch OS 4 even gives you a pretty icon for it and the ability to quick start it next time you work out.

I say this as a former bowler...bowling is not exercise at all.

As a bowler for 40 years of my now 43-year old life, I seriously disagree.

After bowling in youth leagues, collegiately for my university, and have competed in major tournaments, you don't know how much of a toll bowling takes on the body. People go through knee replacements, rotator cuff surgery, and strained and torn muscles. It takes a hell of a lot out of a person's body, especially when you bowl 24-game blocks each week, and most of those are just to make it to match play where you can cash, with the top 5 making it to finals where they bowl for titles.

I'm not just talking the PBA or the PWBA here. The TNBA does this. The ABT does this. The national tournament just ended the week after July 4th in the US, after starting in mid February. It had over 52,000 bowlers competing in it.

When you are doing this for 36 weeks out of a 52-week year, you seriously don't take into account how much cardio a person is doing; weights, squats, core strength toning, and lifting a bowler has to do to do this 4 - 5 days out of a week for major tournaments, pack up, roll to the next city, or even country, and do it all again.

Not exercise? I'd be more inclined to question your bowling credentials than anything.

Ok fine, it's exercise. I don't have the bowling resume that you probably do. Bowled for about 20 years consistently, no 300s, averaged 250 after 9 games in a cosmic league once, and one 7-10 split. I never really thought of it as exercise but perhaps you are right.

Yes, but does the strength training workout have accurate algorithms? I usually just use 'other' right now, and all activity is given the calorie algorithm of a 'Brisk Outside Walk'.
