Dear community,
I have iPhone 6s and iOS 10.3 which I want to keep using. I just noticed that iOS 11 started downloading. I did not even go to setting, did not request anything. Is there a way to stop it? I do not want iOS 11 to be installed.
Thanks for the help!
Alex

did it just download or download and install? if it just downloaded you can go to iPhone storage and delete the download. not sure there's a fix once it's installed.

There is no fix if it's installed. But in order to install it, OP needs to confirm the installation. And I guess that's not going to happen :)

If it starts installing and you do hard reset, will it stop and you'll be back on old software?

No it will most likely show a connect to iTunes screen, once plugged into iTunes it will update to the latest and greatest iOS 11

Thanks. I'm so upset my phone updated. I've been hitting decline for over 2 years, I've was on ios 9.2.1 on my iphone 6 that worked flawlessly, no that's it's on 11.2.6 it's horrible and lags and lags for simple things!

iOS 11 is the worst imho I’ve been with apple since iOS 5, I would go back to 10.3.3 in a heartbeat if I could. I almost feel like I technically don’t own the iPhone that’s in my possession.

After iOS 11 re-downloaded itself three times after I deleted it under "Settings, General, Storage & iCloud Usage, Manage Storage", I started disabling WiFi at night while the phone is charging to prevent re-downloads of the iOS 11 installer.

I did that too, for two years. I just felt like I had a nice V8 car, brought it to the dealer and they swapped in a 4 cylinder engine. This should be illegal.

Yea, explain to me how I still have an Iphone phone that I only use on wifi for a few things (extra phone) and it's on ios 6 something and text message threads, anything you do is instantaneous.

When you bought the phone ...you bought only the physical phone...iOS is still owned by Apple and you agreed on terms and conditions :D. It's pretty legal. Unfair but legal.

Ok, at the suggestion of some people on here, I bought a used iphone 6s (2 gig of ram) and now the phone runs as fast as my iphone 6 did on ios 9, actually it's much QUICKER! Unreal. What crazy is, iphone 6 has 1 gig of ram, iphone 6s has 2 gig, iphone 7 2 gig, iphone 8 2 gig, and iphone x has 3 gig. All the difference was in the ram!

So, if you have an iphone 6 on ios 11, get a used iphone 6s for cheap and the phone will FLY!

(some things I noticed with the 6s vs 6 is the vibrate isn't as strong, I'm assuming apple may have changed the vibration to be less than the 6, which was crazy loud)

It's not only the RAM...the CPU also makes a a huge difference.

For me the worst iOS was definitely ios 10. The ugly notifications change alone is enough to hate it plus the redesign music app.

iOS 11 bings great feature (at least for me) like smart invert colours, new video player controls and Safari is smoother than ever.

At release, ios 11 had many problems (same thing happened with 10) but I'm on 11.3 beta 6 and for me its as smooth as 10.3.3 was.

Are you kidding me? iOS 11 is pure garbage. I'll take your opinion on 11.3 with a grain of salt because I listened to members that said iOS 11 was buttery smooth and It wasn't.

Depends on your device I think. On my 6s plus, 11.3 really worked well, honnestly.

I'm running it on a 10.5 Pro and performance and general interactions are slower. As soon as 11.3 is released I will jump on it because it can't be worse than it already is right?
