Can you be a little more specific to the problem?

Pretty much what’s happening to me, is my XS Max is constantly disconnecting from my cars Bluetooth when my music is playing. I had two different iPhone XS Max do the same thing, but my previous X and my Pixel 2 connect and stay connected with no issues.

What car do you drive? Could be an issue with your head unit not being compatible with iOS 12. No issues here with VW, Mazda or Honda.

Back in 2012, when iOS 7 dropped there was a compatibility issue with Hyundai/Kia causing very similar issues.. The head unit needed to be updated.

This happened with my 4s and Apple fixed it. Give it time.

I have a 2018 Honda Accord

I didn’t have any issues on iOS 12 with the iPhone X, and I had two different iPhone XS Max from two different retailers that have the same issue. My friend has an iPhone XS Max, and he drives a VW and he has BT issues too with his car connection.

Seems extremely odd that your friend and yourself experience issues with Honda and VW, but I don’t and neither does anyone in my family (we only drive Honda and VW). Seems more odd that it’s not being widely reported. Have you reset network settings?

try resetting your network settings and if that does not work try resetting the phone (set it up as new) without restoring backup and see if problem persists.

Tried all that and still issues pairing failed a sec after I start car o my way to fix is to repair ect. Never had a issue with iOS 11 iPhone 8 Plus seems to me it’s faulty hardware in the xs phones there is a slew of problems jerky video top speakers not working or stops working until u restart WiFi issues lte reception issues that 3 independent radio telecom engineers all 3 says it’s faulty antenna design so if your out of your 14 days my suggestion is to go to apple exchange 3 times the 4th time the no lemon law kicks in and they have to refund you or give u a step up model well there is no step up mode to the xs max 512gb except maybe the 8 plus cuz by the looks of things hardware and software the 8 plus is way better any one with a new 8plus 256gb wanna trade for a xsmax 512gb.

Both my wife and I have iOS 12.1 beta on our X and XS Max with no connectivity issues to Bluetooth on our 2017 highlander.

I had problems with my iPhone 8 on iOS 12 connecting to my Honda and Nissan. Deleting the phone from the cars and reconnecting them as new seems to have fixed it.

Did you unpair and repair after the update? May be worth a shot, mine has had no issues.

Haven't noticed any issues in my F-250 with Sync 3 with my Max. Does have severe audio delay with my Jeep Trackhawk though that my XS and X don't have.

This is a problem that's being discussed elsewhere online and has been isolated to iOS 12 and Bluetooth. Some people are having difficulty connecting with Bluetooth, or the music-playback via Bluetooth is distorted, or in some cases Bluetooth is no longer available in Settings. It's not a matter of the make of car or music streaming service (or even streaming per se), and it's clearly not affecting everyone. I downgraded back to 11.4 and the problem vanished as quickly as it had appeared with the upgrade, but my phone wants very badly to upgrade again and sooner or later it will. If anyone with any iOS12/Bluetooth problems finds that the new 12.0.1 has resolved them, please post a reply. Thanks.

No problem with my 2015 RDX, same performance as my iPhone X and 7 Plus before it.

When I read that there was a bluetooth fix, I thought it would fix all the issues I've been having. Still have an iPhone 6S and still having bluetooth disconnect/drop issues. Extremely frustrating especially since I had none of these issues on iOS 11.

I have a company vehicle Chevy Malibu and in my personal truck and car I have Pioneer head units and I've not had a single Bluetooth issue and it certainly doesn't sound distorted. Makes me wonder what version of Bluetooth the connected devices have. I know all of the units I am connecting to have bluetooth 4.2. I also have some earphones that are bluetooth 5.0 and the range and clarity of them is amazing to me.

I just updated and I’m still having connection issues. This is disappointing.
You’re not crazy. I have the same issue with iPhone XS Max. I have a 2015 WRX. when I turn on the car my phone used to automatically pair with the car and now it doesn’t. you have to go into settings and connect manually

Not sure if it's the phone, iOS, or my car, but I couldn't make a call using my car. I was able to get to the history and call my wife, and the car said it was dialing, but it never rang her phone, nor did we speak. When I got home, I called her, not using the car and it worked fine.

Seems like I remember reading somewhere on here that made it seem like they had to unlock their phone before the car would allow you to make a call. I know I have received calls while driving and answered them. Could be the 12.0.1 update.

Apple Music/BT streaming works fine though.

2016 Lexus GS350.
