So what you’re saying is you’ve never gone into your settings to find it frozen? Never dropped frames swiping from one home screen to another or scrolling a page after unlocking? Never failed to load a page or send a message even though your WiFi or LTE indicator showed you have sufficient coverage?

Must be nice.

I’ve had similar. This “premium” phone has been anything but! I’m happy others have good units (or don’t notice). I kind of just gave up trying to get it fixed, hoping they’ll eventually fix it with an update.

This darn thing had NEVER been “buttery smooth”.

ETA: Xs Max launch day unit

The funny thing is, settings app locking up only starts happening periodically a few days after updating. 1-2 days after updating there is no locking up.

The app store is the worst offender though. That thing is beyond sluggish. Whenever I open the updates page (after having it already opened) it is locked up for 2-3 seconds until I can interact with the app.
The straw that broke the proverbial camels back for me happened long after any update. I went to connect my phone to my soundbar and the Settings app was completely unresponsive for about 20 seconds. My wife was sitting next to me and we sat there laughing as I swiped and tapped around futilely. It's been a running joke for us because every time I gripe about how much I hate it she asks why I don't just get rid of it.

I eventually swiped it away and brought it back up and I got another delay of about five seconds. Absolutely unacceptable for a $1100 device.

Hi,
I have Iphone Xr and a Iphone 8 , only 8 has been updated to last 12.2 B5.

With Apple TV 4 i Was listen to the music using Spotify stremed by Iphone 8, in lauch screen appers the volume KEYS and i was able to manage my Yamaha Amplifier , is this a miracle?

How its work?

Yamaha Amplifier is connected only in HDMI to the Apple TV and have no bluetooth connection !

Noticed in Screen Time when making a change to my daughters account I was prompted to make sure her device was running the latest software (beta). Seems like there have been come changes under the hood.

Hopefully its a fix for the phantom devices showing in Screen Time. That would make my day.

Spotlight still broken in this beta. Siri suggestions are really slow when you search something. iPhone 7 Plus. Anyone notice it?
no, this beta has been spot on

Everybody has 3rd party apps that can hamper performance. Do a fresh install and do not load any third party apps and see if your phone makes you happy. Then install 3rd party apps one at a time to see which one is killing you.

XS Max here that is running smoothly and no issues.

So far. Apple sped up animations in this beta and fixed the random stuttering. Signal performance is better. WiFi is very stable on this beta and stronger. I legit had to double check I wasn’t on 2.4GHz. No drop out in my room no more. Battery life remains good. Periscope was freezing on the homescreen when you scroll half way down, this has been fixed, which maybe related to some games that experienced freezing as well.

XS Max. Running super smooth here. Finally.

Negative. I've been restoring backups since the 4S days and this is the ONLY phone that has behaved this way. My iPhone 7 is flawless using the same backup.

It's not the backup and it's not my apps.

Test your theory. Factory reset. Set up as new. Download all ya apps manually. Use the phone like that for 3 days and see if the issues occur.

It's already been done. I'm sure a few people will remember when all of my activity and health data disappeared last month. I made quite the stink. One of Apple's suggestions was to restore and set up as new, activate Health under iCloud settings and give it some time to populate. Well after two days my health data never reappeared and performance was still terrible.

Anyway, this is off topic for this thread. Beta 5 runs beautifully on my 7. I'm looking forward to the final release and any subsequent updates for iOS 12. There's a good chance I'll avoid iOS 13 altogether.

I'd love a 2-3 second lag. I open the app store and it will be completely blank for near a minute on WiFi and LTE. It's awful. Apple Music as well. Any time I try to use the search in Apple Music nothing will load while on LTE, on WiFi it takes just as long as the App Store.

Also, automatic update for apps? HA. I've NEVER had any of my apps automatically update. I always end up with 10-20 updates whenever I decide to check for updates.

I've only had my Setting app lock up once or twice, but nothing too frustrating.

Anyone else noticed duplicates when you go to Cellular Data settings using 3D Touch? It doesn’t happen when you navigate via the Settings app.

Oh thought you was still having issues. No problem then.

There was a update for the Amtrak app this morning. It now works on the beta.
Finally!!!! And it wasn't just the betas it wasn't working on either. Their app reviews indicated that users on the iOS 12.1.4 release version coudn't get it to run either. I assume the delay in updating was related to the shutdown

Installed yesterday on IPP G2 ....
Not seeing anything improved over the B4. Still have the ongoing stock mail and other issues.

New one or a resurface of a legacy issue (saw this in iOS 11):
IPP docked on ASK, Pencil and B&O headphones BT'd in. Get a popup that says "Accessory not supported". Go into BT an there is an item called Accessory. I kill it, alert stops popping up. No idea what it is ... The issue is random / intermittent. o_O

So far this beta is very smooth for me on XS MAX. The wifi data hangup issue seems to be gone. Ill report back if it happens again. LTE over all has been better since beta 3. I still get some call dropouts while on the highway in specific places but it seems less intense (Verizon).

Come on, be a bit more descriptive and helpful than that!

XS Max. on latest beta. screen does not rotate to put things in landscape mode, IE; pictures, calendar, email, ect. everything stays in a vertical orientation, even when phone is rotated into landscape mode.

Are you sure you haven’t enabled portrait rotation lock through control centre?
