The lawsuit won’t go anywhere but as long as it’s pending, they will remain silent.

Apple was fast to say that:
"We're aware of this issue and we have identified a fix that will be released in a software update later this week."
 
It’s funny to me with the FaceTime thing so many ppl trying to be opportunistic about it. An attorney said it caught a private attorney client deposition. Like yeah right the call only attempts for like 30 seconds and then that’s it I’m having trouble believing someone had an entire attorney client privilege conversation recorded via the bug.

Not sure that means it's simple as much as they are working hard and as fast as they can to get it addressed.

“Located a fix” sounds to me like they know what the problem is. And considering how fast they made that statement, it seems rather simple.
 
to me it sounds like they had the fix ready and are just testing the crap out of it before they release it to everyone and does not break something else in the process.

Sure, without having any regard for dependencies and other complexities. Knowing that the motherboard on my a Mac is fried, for example, may be a simple diagnosis but is not so simple a fix.

I don’t think we can read anything into Apple’s statement other than they knew what the issue was. See my post just above for why “knowing” and “fixing” are not synonyms. Regardless of how knowledgeable @zsoos21 is, the admonition to wait is a good one.

So when you turn in your fried mac and the service center tells you the have located a fix, you think “oh no! This is very complicated, will take forever to fix”. Really?

Must admit I had no clue my interpretation of the words “located a fix” would cause such a commotion. Wow...

I think the problem is your interpretation of "finding the problem" as being the equivalent of "easy to fix"

Well then you are wrong. And I believe that is the problem here. A few members weren’t aware of the statement made by Apple, and when it was quoted, it was too late. So now they are pretending that “located a fix” can mean anything. Or even changing the quote, so it fits better? Right... It says “Located a fix”, not “finding the problem”. Fix, problem. Very different things.

Just google the quote from my post above and get it right from the horses mouth.

And with that said, I am not wasting any more of my time and space in this thread on this ridiculous thing.

Not sure we know how long they've been working on it prior to that statement. Again, while there's certainly an assumption that could be made that it was something simple from that statement, it doesn't necessarily mean that and the speed of it all can be more in relation to how important it is to address it rather than how simple the issue was/is.

Identifying a fix could mean "altering tens of thousands of lines of code" for all we know.
