I'll see how good the Active Noise Cancel is? I DON'T expect Bose style true noice cancelling, which is unreal...very expensive but unreal - if so...how long will battery life be with the new AirPods?

Looks like different size tips may be included? Good option I personally think, I did think these would come out in the recent AirPods 2 though. I've tried a few silicone covers with my AirPods 1, so far these exceed my expectations. (pictured)

BUT I did see a pack of something similar waiting in line at Staples of all places. Silicone cover for the charging case, with keychain holder, silicone buds and a rubber strap to attach to each end (also multiple colors). Impulse buy, but not bad for $3.99.

Will hell freeze over and Apple actually add sealing to these buds? I would've gotten the Airpods a while back if they simply added sealing for passive noise reduction.
Looks like it. Ideally they’ll have an optional hear-through function via the mics. There are many situations where that transparency is the reason why I choose AirPods over the alternatives. When I’m driving, shopping or just listening at home I don’t need a debilitating bubble of deafness.
But then there are other times when AirPods are hopeless, like when you’re walking or running and every time a car drives by it drowns out your podcast/audiobook completely.

I for one would definitely get one... Have Bose QuietControl 30 in-ear headphones already and would welcome ANC headphones from Apple... Waiting for this one, impatiently👍

This seems to be a very two-sided issue. I can't use AirPods for anything active, they just fall right out. Others claim the other way around.

I have been reading lately that the new cool in sound is off-the-ear headphones. Specifically how some of the latest VR headsets do this. No more jamming things in your ears but hovering just above them.

Anyone remember these? They were awesome.

I haven’t seen these for years since I posted this pic...what are the odds that I saw some on the ground outside the train station today?

(I picked them up and put them on the fence, Hope the owner finds them!)

AirPods are no use to me as they and all non seal earbuds just fall straight out of my ears. That’s not with exercise but just with movement.
interested to see how these fair.

Looks to be an in-ear type. I'll definitely pass on these as the in-ear type are really uncomfortable for my ears.

These are not very very pretty. If the rumor is true (and I do not think so), this would mean that the new design will be All New with in ear design. But!!! Samsung will make there own copy of this and sell it cheaper. By definition, this is something you should wait for and not order right now...

So I’ve wait to get the AirPods and this is what I’m getting , hell no im getting the 2 I can’t stand those tips

Say what you will about Microsoft, they are on fire lately! And they just announced a new product ONE YEAR in advance! Geniuses!

To be clear, I'm loving the new surface lineup and the innovation coming from Microsoft. They're definitely challenging Apple which is phenomenal for us, the consumers....I just don't personally love the aesthetics of their new headphones.

I have noticed current air pods coming out my ears more when sweaty so would t be against these

Yes please!

I love my AirPods, but unfortunately a part of the small % of people whose ears they don't fit/stay in so I have to use some cheap silicone covers.

This would be very welcomed in my opinion.
I love my AirPods but the 2nd gen only contained minor improvements of the 1st gen model. I also don't like how my AirPods fall out when I'm doing any sort of physical activity. Excited to see what Apple has in store for us!
Try the cheap silicone covers as the quote above mentions. Without them the AirPods easily fall out of my ears but with them I don't have to worry about that happening. Problem is the AirPods don't fit in the charging case with the covers on, meaning they have to come off for charging.

This rumored design could fix the problem but the seal does look kind of uncomfortable.

No no no no no no no. Literally the best thing about Apple headphones to me are that they don’t require you to suction them into your brain. I just can’t use them. Truly hope this isn’t a “new design” and instead just an option.

I hear ya to a certain degree. They are a *very* convenient headphone option for iPhone owners that is reliable.

But Airpods obviously don't fit all ears. In my case, the left will stay in almost perfectly at all times, but my right one will fall out if I smile, frown, or what ever. Not an exaggeration. Lol. I know that's an oddity, but the fact that Airpods don't fit all humans isn't. There is a significant market growing around accessories that make either 1st or 2nd gen Pods both more secure in the ear....and also provide naturally occurring noise cancellation (and inherently increased bass via sealing the gap). Hell the only weakness in this aftermarket product (Silicone covers that sell for about 13-15$, and work damn well) is the fact that you can't keep them on when they are recharging.

Apple I think is noticing this, and hopefully addresses it.

Edit: I avoided buying Airpods since the debut of edition 1, because they are a mirror of the corded pods that ship with a new phone. Had the issue referenced above with standard issue Apple pods for years. I finally broke down and tried a set of Airpods. They are a damn magnificent invention. The ease of use is un-paralleled. They do however, still have weaknesses that aftermarkets are capitalizing on. If the genius powerhouse once known as Apple engineering can figure a way to make Airpods charge in its case with optional surrounds that open up options to more users that have "non standard ears.....lol" .....and keep the size of the case reasonable to what we have now, they would damn near perfect this product.

Something that no one has addressed, so I’ll be the first, is the cleanliness benefit that rubber tips will bring. I’ll just say it, the inner speakers of my AirPods are gross. No matter how well I try to keep them clean, they’re disgusting. Having rubber tips will make it easier to clean, and won’t allow earwax to clog or get into the speaker holes. Let’s be honest, folks, you may not love the change but there are serious perks - cleanliness, fit and variability of fit, noise isolation, etc.

yeah. I’m in the camp where after using jaybirds, don’t like the silicone tips. Just get messy and start popping off.

I’m Calling the price between $250 and $300 for these “PRO” versions.

Agreed current air pods are great but so hard to clean sometimes

They can keep them at that price... I'll be sticking to my Jabra Elites if these "new purported" airpods are a penny over 200
