Hi, after upgrading to 13.2, I noticed that the Mail app (has iCloud) freezes after initiating a search for emails and trying to open any email from the search results. The only way to get everything back to normal is to force close and reopen the Mail app. As of now, the search function has become completely unusable. My wife (has iCloud and Gmail) also has similar issue. Not sure if anyone else is going through this issue. Thanks.

Getting the same thing. Just happened tonight.

only way I could fix it was to remove the exchange accounts and put them in the outlook app.

Not only that, when I receive new mail and a banner pops up, I press on it, it takes to me the mail and it freezes for about 5 secs, then comes back to normal. Happens all the time and happens to both iphones in our house.

Mail works perfectly On my iPad Pro but still broken on iPhone 11 Pro Max. Sticking with outlook app as iCloud mail works fine on its own.

I have a ticket with Apple in pertinent to this issue. They are not aware of any others facing this problem. I would suggest that you guys talk to Apple and report this issue. Thanks.

I swear i have logged over 5 bug reports in past 2 months and status for similar reports show none. This is apple way of saying this is normal behaviour and no one else had experienced this.

Submitted all the logs yesterday to Apple. Let's see what happens.

Hoping that 13.2.2 addresses this issue.

Installed 13.2.2 and issue still exists. Time to move on to another email client. This is frustrating.

I'm seeing the same thing, mail app crashes completely requiring force close after selecting a message from search results. Happens on all iDevices and all email accounts. I've tested Exchange, IMAP and yahoo! Tried deleting and re-adding accounts, did not help. All 13.2.x versions of iPad OS (iPad Pro) and iOS (iPhone XS Max) so far effected. I've submitted a bug report a while ago but no reply.

Same issue here, I noticed on my iPad Air (3 years old) everything with searching mails in the mail app is fine. Very annoying on the iPhone though, as I do not know any workaround for it.

Exact same issue as my end with iPhone XS. Force closing doesn’t even work consistently - it will just stay frozen the next time it’s opened. Apple software development is an absolute joke.

Same scenario here. Oddly, it only happens on my iPhone X and not my 10.5” iPad Pro. Both devices are running the latest OS. Apple Mail will stay frozen/jittery for up to 20 minutes sometimes.

In pertinent to my ticket, Apple got back and they are aware of the problem. Based on their investigation, they will fix this issue in a future software update. The more complaints they get on this, the faster I feel they will jump on this topic.

Well, I spoke to apple senior advisor who contacted the engineers regarding freezing of mail with exchange and outlook.com accounts. Apple engineers have advised that the mail is working fine, I would need to get in touch with microsoft to get this sorted because it is their servers which needs to get updated. Why am I not surprised!!! Good luck that we will ever see this getting fixed.

LOL so the double sent mails only in the Mail app for Exchange/Outlook.com accounts are all MS' fault. It's the MS server. Rigggghttttt..... Tend not to believe that since its only the stock Mail app with that issue not 3rd party apps

Apple cant fix it so now they have started blaming microsoft for it. Pathetic engineers!

Maybe this is addressed further down the thread but not just an issue with outlook accounts. I have an outlook account and 2 yahoo accounts and it happens on them on. Iphone XS Max. IOS 13.2.2

Updated to 13.2.3 and this search issue seems to have been fixed. Will test more. Finally!!
