As much as I like Apple, I hate when they put up a wall. Why can't we do this for non Apple headphones? Just allow for multiple BT devices. The technology exists. Samsung has been doing it for a few years now. BT5 makes it easy. Just allow 2+ BT connections!
Isn't sharing of audio master with two BT Headsets not a basic feature of BT5? As long as all devices support BT5.

Had first gen AirPods, returned first week because they kept popping out of my ears (too much hair and too wide drain channel at bottom of ear to get a snug fit. Liked them a lot but my ears couldn’t hold onto them.

Bought BeatsX these have same W1 chip as AirPods. Like them a lot too (except the cable LoL. ).

They were nearly as expensive as the AirPods. But Apple treats them like a poor relation vs AirPods in terms of features.

One thing that they have been lacking besides shared audio is a place in FindMy. There should be no technical limitation preventing inclusion, but here we are. I’m on 13.1 and they are absent.

Glad to see shared audio is coming, while it’s a feature I’d likely never use, I hope it is a harbinger of FindMy inclusion to come.

They will, probably with the upcoming tvOS 13 release. Streaming to two different audio devices is a function of BT 5.0 (and software that implements it, since the current ATV 4K has BT 5 but can’t dual stream) regardless of your headphones having a coprocessor such as a W or H chip, somthis article is a little confusing.
It actually isn’t a BT 5 feature. It works on the iPod Touch 7th gen which only has BT 4.1 and in the betas it worked fine on much older devices without BT5. I’m a little annoyed they decided to limit compatibility at some point since I was using it just fine on my 5th gen iPad.

Incorrect. Pairing two headphones to a single source was enabled in the BT 5.0 spec (quick Google, 4th paragraph). Short of BT5, you’d need a BT splitter to pull it off. You must be thinking of something else, most commonly mistaking this with its reverse: pairing a BT headphone to multiple sources.

Afraid not bud, one source - multiple Airpods - officially supported on iPod Touch 7th gen which only has BT4.1 (I can see why that might be difficult for you, since it took two googles instead of one) - also worked fine on a wide array of older iOS devices during the early 13 betas. I literally used it myself on an iPad 5th gen multiple times. Thank you for your input though.

People like you keep attributing it to BT5, which has a dual audio stream spec that nobody is using - Samsung doesn't even use it in their implementation.

This will help you:

So that the TVOS 13 is available now, can someone confirm the Audio Sharing feature?
