Ok, I like some of the groupings because I didn’t need to see the lux of a sensor in the garage but I did like to see on two tiles from Ecobee the motion and room temp. Now those are one tile. I use the motion when I need to know if the kids are up and the temp for exactly that. I still have access but it’s a tile I have to open now. I will manage but would like I guess the option of grouping.

What source options do you get when you choose "Play Audio" in the media list?

Can they integrate airplay 2 OS-wide? Is that even possible? It’s so annoying to wait for apps to update to airplay 2.

Where tf is the public beta at
I believe it’s in July waiting for us to get there.
[doublepost=1559778613][/doublepost]Don’t change the music is a nice touch, but kinda worthless without a “If something’s playing, don’t change it, but if nothing’s playing play this thing...”

Does this mean, I can finally turn my Apple TV (and my connected TV) on and off with scenes? e.g. when I leave, my TV turns off?

If your current TV supports HomeKit and has HDMI-HEC, you can actually achieve that today. I own a 2018 LG OLED TV and thanks to the awesomeness of Homebridge, it is supported as a HomeKit device and since I have both the TV and the Apple TV setup to accept HDMI-HEC commands, when one device is turned on or off, the other one follows suit.

Which means I was able to create a "It's TV time" scene which dims the lights in the living room, closes the shades and turns the TV on (you can even set which HDMI input to use), which in turn also turns the Apple TV on.

Secure Video is a new HomeKit API that offers on-device video analysis, sending an encrypted stream to iCloud... Companies like Logitech and Arlo plan to release cameras that use this technology.

I’ll believe Arlo when I see it. With the exception of their baby monitoring camera they STILL haven’t added standard HomeKit support for their security cameras.

i wonder if they will add an option to control the brightness of a specific ROOM, not just individual lights...

I currently say things like "set living room to 70%" and it adjusts all lighting in that room accordingly. Not sure if you mean something else, but it has worked this way for a long time. You can even do it at the zone level, such as "set all upstairs lights to 100%" and all lights in all rooms contained within that zone will turn to maximum brightness.
[doublepost=1559817612][/doublepost]I hope that camera support comes to existing Logitech Circle 2 cameras. A bit disconcerting to see "Companies like Logitech and Arlo plan to release cameras that use this technology." in the article. They should really add this support to their entire line. I can't be expected to upgrade cameras as regularly as I upgrade my phone.... right?!

Not the Siri/Homekit additions I was hoping for.

My key, number 1 request was the ability to do something in a set time.

"Turn off X in 30 minutes"

This seems like such low hanging fruit - the timer system already exists, as do reminders - they could just use it to trigger a homekit accessory.

Timed automation exists in the app too, so why not let siri access it "Turn X device on at 8pm" for instance.

I've often wanted to do a sleep timer, or i've wanted a nap and to turn the fan off after X minutes, or heated blanket during the night or various other things that currently isn't possible.

Second wish was to be able to do two things at once in a single siri command "Turn X off AND turn Y on" - currently that's two commands which is a bit laborious. Of course you can setup a scene to do it, but it should be more fluid, Siri should be able to recognise "AND" now and that you're talking about a homekit accessory and let you do it in one ask - none of the voice assistance currently do this either.

My final wish was for Apple Watch to work with iBeacons - doesn't look like this will ever happen unfortunately, they haven't even enabled it in the bluetooth stack. This could let us have a pretty decent bash at room occupancy when you all you'd need to do is dot some iBeacons around. You can do this with the phone currently but I don't carry my phone with my everyone - seems pretty obvious to have it work with a WEARABLES device.

Pain isn't it, let LG not adding Homekit support to the 2017 65" OLED TV that cost me $4000 - only to the current 2019 release. I really really want that feature but i'm not buying a new TV for it!

that is exactly what i mean minus using siri - i can dim individual lights and toggle rooms on/off from control center, but not dim rooms! half of the time siri doesn't understand what i'm asking for it just gets annoying.

Yes, I already knew that.
I would like to achieve at least turning the TV on/off as an "out of the box" functionality.

Glad to see Apple putting in a file system so you can import in a file from outside and other related functions to make it more like a regular OS. I saw that now it has around 35% functionality to that a Samsung Tab Android OS has!

Airplay 2 devices don’t look to include Airport Express. I have a few of these connected to speakers, but I can’t see them in the Home app in either scenes or automations. Hopefully that will change.

Apple is also adding HomeKit support to routers from companies like Linksys, Eero, and Charter/Spectrum for the first time in iOS 13

Unfortunately in Ontario the internet companies provide the modem n router as a single solution and have banned the use of other modems or routers to the affect of going door to door last year under false pretences to replace them in homes. That or suspending your devices until it’s removed. Rogers, TekSavvy, etc.

Until this offering from partners are released by providers here with first party firmware n configurations I’m shutout.

Why can’t you believe that? It’s discontinued and has been for a while.
Routers should have a period of time that they are supported. They aren’t devices you should regularly update. They are promoting this and not even on their own hardware apparently.

They haven’t seen any meaningful hardware updates in 6 years, very few software patches, and Apple explicitly said they’re moving out of the router business.

It makes sense for Apple to keep pushing updates to these routers to keep them working and secure, but to integrate a new and major service into them is a little much. I think we were lucky enough to get AirPlay 2 support on the Express - but my guess is that came out of dev for AP2 rather than Apple investing new resources into the Airport dept.

Does this mean that the "night lights" in iDevices switches will show up under the main device instead of having it's own HomeKit entry. *squee*

Yes it does, but it seems to mean that you can’t just tap on a light to turn it on - it now takes two taps. Or is there a way around this?

Hi all. Is there anyone that know if it will be possible to use e.g. the Fibaro or Philips Hue motion senosors temperature and light intensity (LUX) sensors in automatisations in the new iOS 13 Home App (or if there is a another LUX sensor available for HomeKit that can be used for automatization)? Cheers, Steen

[doublepost=1563006419][/doublepost]Anyone?

Sad to see HomeKit still missing the concept of device ownership by individuals within the 'Home'. This would enable several features like locking other users out of controlling certain device(s) and Siri understanding which device you mean when you say "[action] my [device name]".
This is exactly the type of functionality I have been hoping for. Also after granting my 3 and 7 yr old sons into Homekit, they are having a blast controlling the Philips Hue lights in their room. Only MAJOR problem is that they are having fun with the lights everywhere in the house... I would like to be able to restrict their access to their defined room..
This also includes limiting the maximum level for their Sonos speakers to 15% on saturdays and sundays... But I guess this is more of a Apple Music/Sonos related issue..

Anyone have any idea how to change the color of Philips hue bulbs in HomeKit for iOS 13? I can only see the temperatures, how do I access the color wheel if I want to create custom colors? Please don’t tell me that I have to go into the Philips hue app, now.

Looks like you have to long press to bring up the slider, then tap one of the six preset colours that are on that screen, then tap edit.
