So after reading this thread it seems like I should hold off on updated to iOS 14 :(
Well, I guess that depends on you and your device. I’ve had WAY more problems on iOS 13 than I have on any version of iOS 14. Not to say that I haven’t had any issues, but as of right now I’m much more happier with 14 than I am 13. YMMV

I know you realize that this thread represents a very very small representation of IOS 14 users. I have 3 phones and 2 pads with nothing but a minor irritant now and then.

HORRENDOUS typing lag in Notes app. Both iPad and iPhone. DFU restore did not fix.

Is this new, never seen it on any other versions of iOS 14 betas?

I have still these problems. Don’t know if someone else has them too:

- When trying to change the position of one widget I cannot easily swipe through the Home Screen pages. It can happen very easy that all of your folders disappear and the apps are everywhere at your Home Screen. Or the positions of the Apps are suddenly changing.

- Apple has restricted third party Widgets a lot. If they are trying to refresh too often iOS doesn’t allow them anymore to refresh. And the widgets are refreshing every 30 minutes I think. Apple Widgets are always in real time. Like the iOS 13 Widgets. Lol

- Delete button on the keyboard still freezes since iOS 12.

- Swipe keyboard auto correct is still a mess since iOS 13.

- Cannot open the subscription page in the App Store with WiFi

Just noticed on my iPhone and iPad both running the same version that when connected to Wi-Fi the devices list (Settings, Apple ID) says ‘trusted devices list is not available’

When I connect 4G the list populates as expected.

Anyone else? Cheers.

I’ve been seeing this on all of my devices over the last 3-4 days or so. My MBP, iPad, and iPhone. In my case, I don’t seem to have to do anything for my list to populate again, though. Everything just loads again later after a seemingly random amount of time. I’m pretty sure this issue isn’t originating on our end. Maybe.

Same here. I’m guessing it’s the way Private Address is being handled and they take awhile to be populated.

Thanks both. The Apple tech on the phone had me remove VPN and reset my network settings both to no avail of course. I hadn’t thought about the private network setting. Thanks again.

ALARM PREFERENCES

Setting an alarm in this new OS sucks.
Please create preference settings for Clock so users can return to old style.

Not quite about alarms, but seems like it relates to the same sort of things:

My series 3 watch randomly disconnects from my phone and restarts.
Try disabling 3rd party notifications within watch app. That was a suggestion my girlfriend got from Apple support because she had the same issue with her Series 3.
There seems to be a bug with some 3rd party notifications

Not sure if they are related, but since updating, the widgets in my notifications shade (swipe left from home screen) are not appearing. Often, they show up as a blank screen, then I need to swipe between them to get them to load and appear. And these are the stock widgets like music and podcasts which worked in iOS 14.

Feels like a memory issue, though the ones on my home screen still work fine.

Is anyone else noticing that the keyboard is invincible? I was rearranging my home screen and when I wanted to type something in for a folder, I couldn't see the keyboard but type anywhere where the Keyboard is supposed to be and you would have letters appearing. Another bug in IOS 14 that won't be fixed for a few weeks unless you are in the Beta program. :(

I’ve had this issue since month. Reported it during the beta time but it never got fixed

Any solution to the random wifi disconnects ? No doubt another update needed

Many of the IOS 14 issues have found to be caused by either/or VPN, MAC filtering on the router and/or the Private Address setting in the WiFi settings on your phone. Just give them all a check. No WiFi disconnect issues for me at all.

After a week using 14.0.1 on both my iDevices I feel battery life seems fine on the iPad, but iPhone seems to not last as long as it should do.

YouTube, via Safari or the app, doesn’t seem to like to AirPlay to the Apple TV (on either the iPad or iPhone). Other apps work fine with AirPlay to the Apple TV; I’m guessing it’s a YouTube issue.

Widget updating behaviour is inconsistent. On my Home Screen on the iPhone I have a medium sized (non-smart) stack of Weather, Calendar and Reminders [showing scheduled]. On the widget page (far left page) I also have a small sized Reminders widget [showing today]. To complete a Reminder, I long press on the notification and choose the option to Mark As Read. I always do this on the iPhone. Sometimes both widgets update but sometimes only the scheduled widget is updated. I ultimately have to go into the Reminders app for the today widget to update.

I also have two Reminders widgets set on my iPad. The small size, for scheduled and today. Sometimes these are properly in sync with the iPhone. Sometimes they won’t have updated at all (need to go into the Reminders app on the iPad and then they will update). Sometimes, like now, the iPad widgets will have updated and show what they should do (i.e the today shows no more outstanding and the scheduled shows upcoming) but the iPhone hasn’t properly updated (today is still showing me one reminder which I’ve already marked as completed but scheduled is correct).

Similar issues with the Calendar widget.

Large Weather widget on both iPhone and iPad shows moony or partly moony for future days forecasts, instead of the correct sunny or partly sunny icons (which show correctly in the app). The medium sized Weather widget works fine and I haven’t had an issue with it updating or showing different temperature to in the app.

Location-based reminders work better for me than any previous iOS version, though I still can’t fully trust them after a test today.

Swipe typing predictive text hasn’t improved since iOS 13 unfortunately.

Other than those issues, everything seems to be working well for me. 👌 Fingers crossed Apple gets the widgets sorted. It’s a new feature obviously, but doesn’t seem quite ready for prime time.

I’m disappointed that in the UK we don’t appear to have the translation inbuilt into Safari. Hopefully it comes soon.

I thought I’d read some time ago that the automatic audio switching between devices would come to the BeatsX in-ear buds. But it doesn’t appear to have done, unless I’m missing something.

Following on from my post yesterday. An issue I’ve encountered this morning on my iPad. I’ve pressed the power button to lock the device, it’s made the lock noise but it actually hasn’t locked the iPad - the Home Screen (or app if I hadn’t closed the app) is still displayed and device unlocked and usable. This has happened 3 times this morning now. Pressing the power button again does lock the device and goes to the lock screen but without the lock noise.

Adding widgets to an existing Home Screen is horrible. Did they even test this? It completely throws my app out of order or even REMOVES folders! And then you have to move everything manually back in place. I’ve started to take screen shots of my Home Screen Layout now.

also on my old iPhone 7 it randomly moved app icons on its own when I am not even using the phone

Same on my XS Max. I have removed all folders because this issue is very annoying. Also adding a new widget causes that all icons disappear on the first page, going to page 3 or 4
