I know that /s, but I think Unicode Consortium is who we can pointing finger at, what are they doing by expanding too much emoji. Even country of emoji pioneer are more towards kaomoji instead of this hieroglyphs character.

Unfortunately, I think this hits a somewhat sensitive problem—what gender do you show new users by default? With skin color, they can default to yellow, but it's much more difficult with gender.

I can imagine workarounds, but I think this is why Apple hasn't done it yet.

Seems like you can given that it's been done for quite a while. That said, seems like that's not really related to the topic of the article.

Whichever you used last. Also, right now women are listed first. There's not much of a difference to show them first as default.

Get people to select when setting up the phone from new or after install.
 
And it seems that the Unicode Consortium and Apple are still not supporting eye color diversity..... :)

The change.org petition for green and blue eyed emoji's hasn't succeeded yet. 😂

(if you search on "change.org petition for green and blue eyed emoji" I think that finds it....)
