And if you don’t have an Apple Watch?
there are a lot of posts about it on MR. FaceID eventually learns your face better and if you get a lot of fails but immediately enter your Passcode afterwards, it learns. Sort of like „oh I probably should have gotten this!“
it works with any mask, white, black. Fabric doesn’t matter either. It DOES NOT work if I wear a beanie at the same time. Also for some reason it only works to unlock the phone itself. Not on apps that use FaceID for authentication
lol - pushing the sales of Apple Watches up...
You need to buy one.And if you don’t have an Apple Watch?
Probably not considering you need the latest WatchOS to make this work. This will exclude Series 0/1/2.How about Series 0?
I’ve worn a mask since this all started and I got an iPhone with FaceID in November (iPhone 12 Pro Max). I have a job where I have to wear a mask all day at work and use my phone to help do my job. It absolutely does not recognize me with it on. If it’s below my nose, it works. If I’m wearing my mask properly then it never does.It is simply false that “Right now, with a face mask on, Face ID does not work”.
One of the selling points of FaceID is that it intelligently adapts to changes in appearance and also that it simply isn’t using a flat photo of your face. If you’ve used a mask for more than a day or two it knows. I can imagine that most people saying this have probably only left their house once over the past year. If you consistently wear the same type of face mask the same way it easily learns. Worked on my last iPhone, continued to work on my new iPhone. A day of inconvenience, but by now most people should have it working.
Not the word that you were looking for.
for the iPhone: in the history folder (aka don't bring it back)On the power button?
I don't think so, if I recall watchOS 7 requires Series 3 or laterWill this work with Series 1/2 models?
If something happens with the watch on a beta (bricks etc.), you will have to send it to Apple. You also can't downgrade the watch. Unless you are willing to take the risk and send your watch to Apple, stay on the formal release.Any reports yet on the reliability of the watch and phone betas? Worried about installing betas on the watch ...
We need it to be released NOW!!!!!
Even with the vaccine, we will still have to wear a mask for a good while longer.Exactly...by the time 14.5 is released to the public we might not have to where the masks🤞🏻
True...they should still get it out there ASAP though.Even with the vaccine, we will still have to wear a mask for a good while longer.
Are you using iPhone at all? I had mask on for 1 year now and still FaceID is not working. In fact Apple intentionally coded it not to work and disable itself of iPhone see you with mask, since mid 2020, when mask wearing is enforced worldwide because it will be faster to instantly disable it and let you enter passcode. It is simply false that “Right now, with a face mask on, Face ID does not work”.

Unless Apple is going to sit on 14.5 until 2022....Exactly...by the time 14.5 is released to the public we might not have to where the masks🤞🏻
right, and once it leaves your wrist - it would no longer wait for payments.Because the watch locks itself the moment it leaves your wrist
