I think AirTags will have the U1 chip in them, which will probably help giving an exact location. But it just shows an area on the map like with other things you might know what area it’s in but it doesn’t give exact location

Nope uwb only works near the device so unless it’s near it then it’s kinda useless
They don’t call him prosser the tosser for nothing. Can’t wait to see another PROSSER fail prediction this month when Airtags don’t come out![]()
Consider how long it took Apple to enable ultra wideband handoff feature on HomePod mini. It was super buggy during the betas. What “fiasco?”

How did the system know where your single airpod was?I thought the 'find my airpods' was stupid, until I lost one on a bike ride. It didn't pinpoint the location, but I found the little rascal pretty quickly after I got back to the close area it was.
Has been explained a thousand times. Can someone explain how airtags with U1 chip work I thought the U1 chip needs to be near the phone so if something is lost how would it ping the phone; would it use gps? Ultra wide band only works close to a device
No, I think Apple will open it up without really opening it up. If you know what I mean.I'd bet anything Tiles has spent a fortune and tons of time to get ready for an anti-trust lawsuit, and it’s all going to be wasted when Apple makes Find My an open API for partners.
I don’t think it was the original plan to open this to 3rd parties, but Apple ran the analysis and the revenue and lock-in was not worth the anti-trust headaches.
I don't know. Bluetooth? It happened shortly after I bought them. I'm glad I was able to find it. It narrowed down the location. How did the system know where your single airpod was?
Yeah, that's weird. I thought it looked for the case only. Glad you found it though!I don't know. Bluetooth? It happened shortly after I bought them. I'm glad I was able to find it. It narrowed down the location.

That's quite brilliant. I did not know about this. It's a feature. Yeah, I was too. Having to replace them so soon made it just so bad. I don't wear them riding outside, not that I've ridden outside much anyway.
What’s with all the speculation? Apple has said exactly what they are going to do, and the documentation is on their developer website. No, I think Apple will open it up without really opening it up. If you know what I mean.
It's like those free to play games.
How did it know it - its impossible - it seems not true ...Let’s quickly file that under innovation before your next rant.

If you need to find only one AirPod or AirPod Pro
If your AirPods or AirPods Pro are separated from each other, you see only one location at a time on the map. Find the AirPod or AirPod Pro that you see on the map and put it in its case. Then refresh the map and find the other one.
