Can anyone confirm that it also doesn’t unlock your iPhone when wearing a mask on iOS 14.7 and watchOS 7.6?
No, this also does not work anymore!

Unlocking must be manually entered, will not unlock when phone unlocks

AND "Face Mask ID" with Apple Watch is busted. It was always a bit unstable for me...it would work eventually. Now it just doesn't no matter what.

Get it together Apple! 😡

Some other bizarre bugs between the watch and phone with the update. Weather is not syncing....it was just hanging last night and just gave me blank info with dashes"-- -- --". Also notifications I used to get are not coming in. So theres some kind of communication problem.

Well since Unlocking watch when you unlock Phone and Face Mask ID (when many are still wearing masks with this ongoing mess), I hope the fix is coming today....tomorrow....Friday?

These were hyped up features by Apple, so I would think they want this fixed as much as we do.

I haven't been reading here much this week, and fortunately I have my iPhone 12 Pro set to not automatically install updates. I don't see any pressing reasons to update from 14.6 to 14.7, so I'll wait for 14.7.1 (I really like the Watch unlocking from phone feature). I'll also keep automatic updates turned off, and wait a day or two before installing future iOS updates, to see if there are issues found.

Still no fix for this? I have a work’s iPhone so passcode entry not an option for me. Glad I saw this warning before trying to update so waiting for a fixed release but a fix really should have been released immediately for a bug that can render an Apple Watch locked out.

Waiting too, and holding tight with the watch bugging to update: now or later?
No option for: NO!

Not just Touch ID. It's also very finicky with Face ID and hardly ever works now. I have to try it 2 or more times to get it to eventually work. It got so annoying that I just type in the code now.

Microsoft having issues with there operating system updates has always been a source of laughter and entetainment amongst Apple fans. Now it seems the tables have turned because when reading tech websites, I see more news articles about issues with Apple and it's software updates than I do with Microsoft and their updates.

Have you updated to 14.71 yet? It should have fixed the bug.
