Of course, but the article text make it sound like the videos on iPhone can be viewed in 2160p, and that it is something different than 4k which Apple TV is supporting.

It's worded oddly, for sure. I think they are trying to say videos of those resolutions can be selected to display that way, even if the iPhone/iPad displays show it downscaled. Right now you can't even select anything over 1080p.

Is it adding caption or keywords? Adding keywords would be extremely helpful in using the existing keyword sorting system in MacOS Photos

*some features not available on all iOS 14 capable devices
Most of the features are not available on iPhone X; I am pretty sure, I had seen "Mirror Selfie" on the first public beta. So the device was capable. And now its removed in the current public beta :(

Unfortunately, it doesn't supersede YouTube stopping playback when the phone is locked...

That is if you are using the YouTube app. If you search and view videos from Safari or any browser and lock the phone, it will pause once, but then just hit play on the controls and it will play all day long. I’m sure they will disable this once iOS 14 officially releases. Don’t they charge for this feature?

I can confirm this works on my phone, too. I’m wondering when YouTube will figure out how to kill it (as well as pip).

With iOS 14, you can watch 4K YouTube videos on the iPhone, iPad, and most notably, the Apple TV. The iPhone and the iPad don't have 4K displays, but do offer video that's higher than the prior 1080p resolution limit.

Content on iPhone and iPad can be viewed in 1440p HDR or 2160p HDR, while the Apple TV supports full 4K video. You can choose quality when watching a YouTube video in the YouTube app by tapping on the cog-shaped wheel to adjust the settings.
Only if the Apple Device support HDR. Otherwise if YouTube supports VP9 in iOS and IPadOS it can provide 2160P resolution. YouTube App in tvOS is old and doesn't support 4K yet. It the favorite joke right now, Apple tells us about it, and its not there.

I can’t believe it’s taken this long to get the mirror selfie option.

it was always frustrating how the saved image was never the same as when you took it, that enabled option should be the default tbh.

Back Tap is actually pretty incredible. I’ve got it set to go ‘Home’, which now means when Face ID unlocks my phone, I can double tap to see the Home Screen rather than having to swipe up from the bottom awkwardly with my thumb or other hand.

Caption. You could write an applescript to manipulate the caption to extract keywords if you wish.

I don't use Keywords and I also don't tend to use Captions as I prefer to use Titles which show under the photo (in MacOS). I've written an applescript that moves the top line of the Caption text to the Title (and leaves the rest, if anything, as a caption). I guess it could easily take the second line (or whatever) and move the words into Keywords.

A 4K YouTube video on e. g. a 1080p screen will still look noticeably better than the same video in 1080p.

Really? Why? Intuitively you’d think the only difference is whether the downscaling is done at play-time, on device, or at render-time on potentially a big powerful computer, and you’d think the latter would produce at least as good results, likely better.

I cant find Eye Contact in Settings on my 10.5” iPad Pro. Does anyone know which models are supported?

It was under Facetime and then scroll a lot. I do have an iPhone X however I thought I didn't have the feature until I scrolled and scrolled on the Facetime setting.
