So did they just reduce the features it’s looking for and limit it to eye and ear relationships?? Hopefully it’s still as secure as before, but …

Better late than never but I wonder how much of a security hit this takes since most of your face is behind a mask. Would glasses mess up looking at the features around your eyes or at least reduce the uniqueness since the dot projector would "see" the flat lenses instead of the contours around your eyes?
I am hopeful but it must be less secure. Face ID with full-scan is supposed to be 1 in a million chance of a false positive. Wonder how secure this is? If it’s safer than 1 in 50 000 for a false positive then this would still be as or more safe than Touch ID.

I have an Apple Watch but disabled the feature when I once noticed that a kid who took my phone could unlock it as long as I and my unlocked Apple Watch were close-by. Not something I wanted. My phone should only unlock when I intend it to.

Uhh well my 11 Pro learnt my masks.. it had to be fitted the exact same way but i never rescanned it. My 13 Pro is yet to learn it though. It took a little while i think

I thought watch unlock was going to be a useful feature. But it just moves the lock from my phone to my watch. It's not really an improvement in my view.

Just bring back the fingerprint scanner already.
The Watch unlock is a security hazard in my view since my experience is that anyone can unlock your phone if your are nearby with your unlocked watch.
