I want that maps icon for my Jailbroken iPhone (iOS 12), but these are always surprisingly hard to find in high quality. (I want the full original one; they never look right cropped out of screenshots.)

Making a design change like that would negatively affect new users. Also, some apps (like games) dim the home bar so that you have to swipe twice, once to activate it and twice to actually go home preventing you from accidentally leaving the app and losing progress. Without a visual indicator it would make it confusing to leave those apps for multitasking, Home Screen, etc.

A better option would be for users to be allowed to set it to auto minimize a few seconds after opening an app, then it would still pop up in scenarios like I mentioned above, but be out the way otherwise.
A better option would be allowing users to disable it completely in settings, but that’s not how Apple rolls. They insist you do everything their way because your way is wrong.
And that’s how we end up with “you’re holding it wrong,” and the legislative and judiciary branches opening antitrust hearings.

You know, thinking back on those days, I’m sure all the other phone vendors were like “YES!! THIS is the break we’ve been waiting for! It has all come down to this moment for us to shine!”

Maybe Steve Jobs saw this coming and was like, “How can I get folks to buy fewer iPhones? Being so successful will be the end of us!” He was likely distraught that it didn’t seem to work.

Like the new Maps icon, of course, but would be super ecstatic if instead of tweaking the icon Apple could put more effort into new maps rollout worldwide.

Now you can bring up quick notes and swipe between them, including old ones, in the interface! Very very cool and very useful.

The icon/widget mess when turning from landscape to portrait is an absolute joke. The opposite of useful.
