I found this out while working out yesterday - but it's not a deal breaker for me. It's much faster to press and hold my left AirPods Pro than it is to ask Siri to do it!
But what about when winter comes?I found this out while working out yesterday - but it's not a deal breaker for me. It's much faster to press and hold my left AirPods Pro than it is to ask Siri to do it!
It’s not. Everyone I know who exercises with their Pro’s has relied on Siri over the doofus squeeze controls because trying to do while jogging/biking/anything cardio generally results in pulling the stupid thing out of your ear entirely. It’s a lot easier to invoke Siri to toggle noise cancelation/transparency, skip track etc. It's likely that only a minority of AirPods pro uses use this feature, and it was not prioritized
I jumped in on beta 1 and never had this issue until the RC this week. I showed off iOS 15 to no one.I jumped on beta 8 and reported it three times. Once on beta 8 and twice on RC.
I can’t believe people who jump on beta 1 couldn’t detect this. This shows me how beta testing is just a cool trend to show off to your friends rather than a tuning process.
The white walkers comeBut what about when winter comes?
Still pissed about the way the last season went…The white walkers come
As are we allStill passed about the way the last season went…
I have noticed a lot of people find Siri cumbersome because they think they have to wait for a response before you give instructions. My wife interacts inefficiently with Siri like this constantly. Instead, try simply saying Hey Siri and immediately follow with your request without pausing. For instance, “Hey, Siri, turn down the volume” Once I became aware of how the pause after the Siri wake command was not necessary, the interactions become faster than squeezing the AirPod stems or pressing buttons on the AirPods Pro. Same goes with interacting with Siri on the iPhone or HomePods. Give it a try and let me know what you think.I found this out while working out yesterday - but it's not a deal breaker for me. iOS 13 if I remember correctly was like this - it immediately broke Bluetooth connectivity to a 2017 Mazda that had worked flawlessly until iOS 13 and it took a number of dot releases and me filing bug reports before they finally fixed it.I’ll make this comment every time I see some crap like this.
Apple’s new MO is break it with an update and fix it soon after with a .1 or .1.1 release. Their software QC has gone down down down.
Cue snide remarks about today’s apple vs. Jobs’ apple, by people who forgot all the bugs back then.
actually I’m more inclined to have someone explain how a feature that Apple creates or solidifies within an API along with documentation ends up being broken by a new iOS update (even Beta)?
I mean wouldn’t the working feature documented have been cross-checked against within creating the new iOS that would be fixed before rolling out a beta?
I honestly don’t know how this works with programming so I’m very curious for an experienced coder to help explain how things like this keeps occurring.

Yep, it's a tough comparison, tech visionary vs. CFO bean counter. Yeah, that's a tough call right there who who might be better at running a forward thinking company. Hmm..
Don’t assume that people use things like yourself, you say, while firmly claiming that it’s not a minority that uses this feature. How do you know it’s not a minority? You and your friends don’t constitute a majority of users, I’m sure. It’s not. Please don’t so easily fall into the fallacy of thinking everyone uses something the same way you do.
APP users bought them to use those features, not to look cool. It’s a big miss. It's likely that only a minority of AirPods pro uses use this feature, and it was not prioritized
No, it’s really definitely been consistently worse since 2013. There are so many bugs that never get fixed at all, and that list only grows because Apple don’t ever bother putting time into fixing everything. It’s Wall Street in charge. Xerox Tonerheads, but the toner is “next season phone sales”.Cue snide remarks about today’s apple vs. Jobs’ apple, by people who forgot all the bugs back then.
