One thing I haven’t seen mentioned is how iOS 15 took away the Apple TV remote app, and you now have to slide down Control Center to then click the remote. If this extra step annoys you (parents who’ve had to hide the glass backed remote out of their children’s reach will know what I mean), you can use shortcuts to launch the remote app from a single click once again.

Launch shortcuts, add a new shortcut, search for “Show remote for” and then select the one which says “Show remote for [apple tv]”. Next, click on the blue [apple tv] link and select the specific Apple TV you want to control and you’re done. You don’t get exactly the same icon, but there’s probably an emoji close enough that suits what you like. You can also set the main background colour and give it a name (“ATV Remote” with the grey background is what I used). Voila - your Apple TV remote app is back.

For the 2FA authentication feature, what happens if you lose your Apple device and need to gain access with a non-Apple device?

I'm not sure I understand the MFA option for passwords. I have already scanned the QR code with another authenticator. Will setting up MFA with the Apple passwords app replace the authenticator? Or will both authenticators work?

iOS became a Frankenstein monster of a lot of features being stuck together to make it seem like a complete OS yet originally it was just a phone OS. Gone are the days of one-button mouse to make things as least confusing as possible

The Live Text option is great, but I couldn't get it to work. I just found out that the option is turned off by default. You have to go into Settings > General > Language and Region to turn it on.

One note: for those who are using a pi-hole to do ad interception the iCloud+ IP Relay will not work. It detects the p-hole and indicates it is incompatible. If you set your DNS to AdGuard's or similar you can get some ad removal with the IP Relay option.
The latest release of Pi-hole has a feature for handling Private Relay:

  • Add special handling of iCloud Private Relay domains Implement special handling of Apple iCloud Private Relay domains to prevent Apple devices from bypassing Pi-hole.

While it would involve a great deal of work, it would be very helpful if lists of features such as that above told the reader exactly which features were activated for which iPhone models.
