That is cool, but you have to add the keywords yourself, manually. That can be very tedious and time-consuming if you have a very large library. I speak as one who has a large photo library and who does use the keywords feature.
No you don’t. For about 3 years iOS has had the ability to search for keywords without needing to have tagged the photos with any metadata. How has no one known about this?
 
Is there a way to do this without having to take the photograph first?

To clarify, I mean, point the camera at a plant and have it identified while it's in the viewfinder without having to take a photograph?
 
This is an awesome feature! I just found about it today when I put up our tree. Took a photo of the finished work and saw a plant leaf in the photo. Clicked on the leaf and found out is was a spruce tree. A fake one, but none the less Mind blown. ?

Perhaps something is turned off that needs to be on?

Location (GPS) and/or Siri seem to have no effect (on/off).

Images are recognized in a search, i.e. 'cats'
