The iPhone 13 Pro spent the first 10 months of its life having iOS be all jittery and choppy. Then they finally fixed it this summer. Then iOS 16 dropped and it went right back to being a jittery mess again. Still not fixed as of 16.1.1. Yes I've restored the phone through iTunes. Yes I've run diagnostics through Apple. Nothing is wrong. Apple just completely sucks at delivering a smooth OS these days. I should NOT EVER see jitters and framedrops on $1,000 phones doing simple things like scrolling.

i think that 16.1.1 actually broke wifi on my 13 Pro, can’t connect even when my ipad connects without problem (ipad is not update)
This is my issue as well. iPhone 14 Pro Max - wifi keeps disconnecting while at home. Having major issues with phone calls. People can't hear me, keeps cutting in and out. Going to downgrade to 16.1 immediately.

16.1.1 is running pretty well on my 14PM. Battery life better than 16.1, though still could be better. Wifi connections more stable than on 16.1, which is especially important since I use wifi calling a lot. Still a little buggy but the best version of iOS 16 yet, at least for me.

I was super tempted to hop on the 16.2 beta train, but I'm so glad I stuck with 16.1.1. The latest 16.2 beta seems like 2 steps back, especially for folks who have pro-motion iPhones, based on the lengthy discussion on the 16.2 beta 2 thread.

I wish Apple would focus more on bug fixes & performance and less on adding new features until iOS was super smooth and stable. But bug fixes don't help sales as much as new features. :(

Are you still on the 13? I thought this was specific to the 14 pros. My guess is the is has not been optimized properly for the a16 and memory management. My 14 pro is a stuttery mess. No excuse for this.

Battery life diehards are staying on 16.2b1 I hear haha

I upgraded from 16.0 to 16.1.1 foolishly believing Apple had fixed the wifi bug. They haven‘t. I now randomly disconnect every couple of minutes. Annoyed with myself, but mainly with Apple.

Next time they don‘t release proper notes, caveat emptor.

I’m still seeing the stuttering when swiping up out of apps.
I’m also finding that Safari links aren’t opening, and in some cases I’m unable to even manually go to different web sites (MacRumors even). A reboot seems to “fix” that.
Battery life has gone down, too. I was getting well over 24 hours (almost 36 hours once!) and am now going down to 30%-40% by late afternoon. I was still at or around 60%+ by that same time on 16.1

Are you on wifi when links won't open or 5G? I have this on 5g and toggling to airplane mode and back fixes it. Coworker has the same issue ATT here. It happened on my 13 pro and att gave me a physical sim that fixed it. Sadly not possible on the 14 pro.

I’m generally always home, at least when I notice it. And that’s on Wi-Fi, although I have AT&T as well. When I have the network/Safari issues with pages not loading and stuff, turning on Airplane Mode and then off again seems to “fix” it for the time being. I created a shortcut that does it for me in one tap.

Odd exact same issue but on cellular at times.

Hey all, while we are sorting through the boatloads of bugs still with ios 16, I just wanted to share that it is still possible to downgrade back to iOS 15.7.1. All you need to do is download the ipsw and rollback to iOS 15.6 RC through iTunes or finder, and update OTA to 15.7.1. For some reason, that build is still being signed. Just thought to share since I’m sure there is a few people like me regretting ever updating to iOS 16 in its current state. Just rolled back my 13PM, keeping the 8 plus on iOS 16.2 and testing new betas in hopes things improve, but in the meantime there is a option 😀

Cheers

I could be wrong. But the connectivity issue is a general problem with iPhone 13 Pro and it is not a software or SIM-Card issue (I have changed my Sim-cards twice as well as carriers of different countries). On my phone there are constant problems with Wifi, LTE. Apps won't load, links won't open, whereas everything works fine on my other devices. And all the people I know who own the 13 Pro for some reason also have this problem.

Interesting for me it started on my 13 pro 5G only. I went to ATT and they gave me a physical sim and it went away until I got the 14 promax no sim. Now its back buy I only notice it on 5G it like web pages wont load or take forever. Same with apps but what's odd is that when I run the speedtest app it seems fine. The fix for me is just toggle airplane mode on and off. My coworker has the same issue iphone 14 pro. Annoying at times.

Absolutely the same thing on 13 Pro, but with my European (namely Ukrainian and Austrian) SIM-Cards, they had no effect on connectivity. And the fix is the same too :/

I’m having an issue using YouTube with iPhone 14 pro max, when using YouTube normally on the app the phone stays cool but as soon as I go into Picture in Picture mode the phone gets red hot and starts dimming so now I’ve had to turn pip, anyone else have this issue

My iPad gets warm when using YouTube's website. Battery drain seems excessively high specifically when using YouTube... PIP or no.

But there’s a difference using pip for even 3min makes phone really hot and dims but when I go back into the YouTube app it’s fine it cools down and brightness up there’s an issue with pip
