AirPods Pro - not on beta.
13 ProMax and iPad Pro 11 2020 - on RC

Couple of items that have degraded or appeared with this RC build.

1. When initially connecting, the APP will connect with the 13PM if active. They may / may not connect with the iPad if active.
If using the APP for Noise Cancellation, they will initially start out okay - they were better in previous betas - but the effectiveness of the NC degrades to less than 50% after 30 minutes. APP controls have no effect and using BT to cancel and reactivate helps; for another 30 minutes or so.

2. I have discovered that I am missing calls. No idea how many. 13 ProMax on AT&T.
I was waiting on a call back from my primary care doc and nothing ….. So I checked in via my patient portal and found they had called but my phone shunted it straight to voicemail. (I’m recovering from a nasty bought with COVID).
Don’t know if it is AT&T, 13PM, or iOS16.1 - have had this issues once before during the betas.
Switched my med to my Android number on Mint Mobile.

Lastly battery is kind of poor.
Getting around 5 hours SOT with the iPad.
Getting around 7-8 hours with the 13 ProMax.
This is a significant drop with RC.

Side note: I have not worn my Apple Watch 7 since I got sick a week ago. Actually kind of nice.
For now.

Later folks! Feeling a bit better but going back to catch some more Zzzzz’s.
Hope you get well. Love from Limeybasturd aka Fred Zed now. 🤣

I actually have this bug as well. Does this bug still happen to you? I'm surprised its not more prevalent here. I feel like most people just exit out to the main messages screen after sending a text so no one really seems to notice.
Yes I still have it. Unfortunately it’s not really mentioned by other users but I have seen memory issues mentioned which could be related…not sure though.
I’m hoping that it will be addressed in a future update. Might be stuck with this one for a few months.

Did Apple downgrade Stage Manager on iPadOS? I remember testing it on my wife's iPad Pro in the earlier iPadOS 16 BETA's and when connecting USB-C (DisplayPort) to Displayport on a 21:9 ultrawide 3440x1440 monitor it would use the full aspect ratio. Just tested using iPadOS 16.1 RC and it now acts as iPadOS has always done, it's locked to a 4:3 aspect ratio not using the full display at all. Enabling Stage Manager doesn't affect the aspect ratio at all.

No, you're seeing similarly what I'm seeing. Connecting to an External Monitor is like how it was pre-iPadOS 16..

Yes, external display support was removed from the 16.1 betas and will be back in a later iPadOS update. (16.2 at the earliest.)

That’s because they removed external display support when they made Stage Manager available to older iPads.

Not sure if this even matters, but I went to remove the beta profile from my watch, and noticed it’s not signed by Apple?? Seems odd, no?

I'd only ever install it from Apple, yeah.
Well that tells me my sketchy website is probably supplying real profiles then. :)

On a side note, do you have a pair of 2nd-gen AirPods Pro? Have you tried putting the beta firmware on them?

The reason I ask is that although I’ve successfully done so in the past with my 1st-gens I cannot for the life of me get this newest beta firmware to install on 2nd-gen AirPods Pro. Just seeing if whether this time around you maybe actually need to be a registered developer (which I still doubt).

I don't, but I do have a pair of Beats Studio Buds. I'm keeping the betas off those, though. I've already gone thru the pains of restoring a HomePod (pair) from betas, I'm not wanting to deal with my earbuds, too 🤣

So will you get alerts when the game starts so you can set up live activities for it?

Also loving the wallpaper! Go Dawgs!

I have alerts set up for the teams I follow, but there isn't one that will fire 6 hours prior to remind you to activate Live Activities. I'd imagine they'll add it. But I do get a "pre-game" alert, so it will remind me to activate at that time.

GO DAWGS!

Swipe to home stutters are lag are here to stay. So disappointing. Apple’s highest end phone can’t even get home without stuttering and lagging. Pathetic.

I’m sorry, and I’m a huge Apple fan, but their iOS software has been a bug ridden mess for the last few years.
