To my discerning eyes the battery indicator font also appears to have been updated. Looks better-spaced and a tad more legible here on 13 mini.

Battery has been pretty bad. I’m out now and I’m following the battery as I’m near 50% and I’ve been waiting for the profiles. The battery has dropped with 20% for about an hour and a half with only music and light Safari usage. I have to charge my 14PM twice a day and that’s with light usage cuz I work and I don’t use it much during the day. So things have been really bad here.

Facebook app?
AOD, probs still not quite right?

@Bobout turned AOD off, for the time being, and got amazing battery on his 14pro.

Pretty sure the software version number in General > About is bolder and brasher, like BAM! 💥

For real, I feel like the last beta of 16.1, the RC and the final were the worst of the bunch as far as battery life on my 13 mini. Sad!

Does anyone know if this beta fixes the annoying swipe up stutter when leaving some apps on iOS 16.1 on iPhone 14 Pro? It's driving me crazy.
So far it's been smooth on my iPhone 14 PM. Hopefully it's fixed this time, since I thought the same thing yesterday with the release of 16.1, but I was wrong.

Animations feel super quick and fluid even with Reduce Motion/Prefer Cross-Fade Transitions enabled. Actually this thing just feels way faster than 16.1 now that I really think about it/look at it 🤓🤩

Many aspects of the UI are now SwiftUI-based, as well as many of the stock apps. So with the fix introduced today for SwiftUI to support ProMotion I’d expect stuff to be more fluid.

Even for us lowly 60Hz folk?! How kind of Mr. Apple 🥲

We shouldn’t have to turn off AOD to get good battery life though. Hopefully they improve it or at least give us options to tweak how bright we want it.

No of course not.

Just its algorithm/code/brightness output isn’t quite right yet so it’s causing more drain than normal - that’s an educated guess.

But with it off, the ip14P battery was amazing for him.

HomePods on 16.2 sounding great, and they seem to connect and pair quicker after enabling Matter. No hiccups or gaps between tracks thus far, and I’m listening to a lossless DJ mix (as well as simultaneously downloading Xcode with my MacBook) on a not-super-fast connection—impressive to say the least. As a HomePod/music enthusiast feel like this could really be a breakthrough release.

Weird delay I encountered in 16.1 final when waking the device with the now-playing widget on lock screen persists. Lossless indicator in Music now has a filled, squircle-ish shape rather than the oval outline of yore.
