I had a carrier update from AT&T to 54.0.1 after I installed this update.

So those of us who installed 16.6 beta can't install 16.5.1?
Shall I opt out from the beta program? I got into it since it's now free and I needed the update which fixes the charging bug

You can’t downgrade without wiping your device and using a computer. You’ll need to wait for the official 16.6 release to upgrade to a non-beta version.

The bug fixes in 16.5.1 would be included in the next 16.6 beta which is very likely to be released tomorrow. So if you’re not having any issues with 16.6 beta then I’d suggest you stay on the cycle.

Ahn, I see an odd behavior: although there's a badge indicating a software update is available, when I connect either of my iPhones (13PM and 14PM) or my iPad Pro (5th Gen) to the Finder on my MacBook Pro and check for updates, I get a "iOS 16.5 is the latest version" or "iPadOS 16.5 is the latest version" box. Why would this happen?

UPDATE: it's working now, sorry for raising an alert.

Thank you. Worse by how many minutes/hours ?
I cant tell you in numbers, but I just feel it. Example... im at 95, and im doing things, few minutes later, im at 87% but I just spent that time on youtube, and some browsing and I already lost 8% in a couple of mins.

Correct (not without going into recover mode) If you are having issues with 16.6 that you cant live with then yeah downgrade it. Otherwise why would you? You can flip the switch anytime you want to stop getting new beta updates but IMO downgrading is a bit more trouble and not worth it unless you are having issues.

I don't want to jump the gun either on battery life but I updated to 16.5.1 right when it rolled out. Since then, I can say that battery life is noticeably worse. I will continue to give it a few days to make sure, but even last night I went to sleep with around 65% battery at 10 PM and woke up at 7 AM to 28% battery on my 12 Pro. I have never seen anything remotely close to that kind of drop overnight. Hoping it is just running processes in the background so I will continue to give it a few more days.

For context my battery health is at 92%. 🤷‍♀️

Alright, I just put my phone to charge for the first time since that night (where I installed the update - I installed it when I was at 42%), and anyway, during these few hours I did not see any particular heating or particularly high battery drain at all. Look, the millions of people who installed 16.5.1 and now those complaining. If you look closely, it's a tiny fraction of people who have installed 16.5.1 who have battery/heating issues. What model do you have ? How long have you had your phone ? Which apps have background activity ?

Iphone 13 Pro, 2 months old, battery health 100%, everything disabled that consumes battery life, from background app refresh to mail push to manual.
Battery life is worse, compared to 16.5
