According to iAppleBytes, this minor update dramatically improves battery life for iPhone 8 as well as the iPhone 11:

I think I’m gonna finally update to iOS 16 on my iPhone 8

Weird home page. Could only fix with restart. Changing pages or opening apps and going back showed same layout.

Users are saying text messaging is not working to androids and it's a bug. I am on 16.5.1 and have not had this issue
I am having this problem intermittently on my XR. Sometimes when I try to open my messages app it freezes and then crashes. The only way to correct this is to restart my phone, and even then it only corrects the issue temporarily. I never had this issue prior to updating.

@DanRO @Helmsley have any of you had any noticeable bugs or glitches, like with the messages app or trying to send/receive SMS to/from Android devices?

There was a 40 minute delay in me receiving an SMS from an Android device the other week, but I put that down to issues with the local cellular network at the time.

Other than that, no, not noticed any issues.

I can’t really answer this, didn’t send or receive any SMSs.
I have had cellular connection dropping while abroad (with roaming), but my friend had the same issue on an Android phone, same carrier, so the carrier must have been the problem.

Thank you both for sharing your experience. Okay, whenever I can I will update my iPhone 8 to iOS 16.5.1 performing a clean install.

If iOS 16.6 or 16.7 turns out to run better than 16.5.1, both in performance and battery life, then I’ll update them. Otherwise I’ll stay on that version just like I’m now on iOS 15.7

Just curious is anyone having issues with the App store since the security response. I have seen 1 person say that had an issue. I can't tell if mine is working or not

What's the issue? Just tried mine, after updating, and it appears to be working alright.
the guy didn't specify. I know that since I updated I haven't gotten any new app updates, but that could be coincidence since I only have about 11 apps and I had already downloaded 4 today.

It’s installed on all of our devices with no issues observed as yet. I notice that there is an option to remove it, but unless there is some major issue reported we will leave well enough alone.

Looks like 16.5.1b will be incoming soon as 16.5.1a broke a number of web sites.

Apple is aware of an issue where this Rapid Security Response might prevent some websites from displaying properly. Rapid Security Response iOS 16.5.1 (b) and iPadOS 16.5.1 (b) will be available soon to address this issue.

I even had the problem with macrumors. I think there will be a re-release today
Macrumors is one site I frequently have issues with but not with this “a” release. Still haven’t run into any problems on any site I’ve accessed.
