New Features & Changes
  • A Shared Admin in a Home is now able to pair/add Matter Accessories
New Issues
Remaining Issues
  • When a manual software update is attempted on a Matter accessory with an available update, Home might not indicate that the update has been requested and continue to indicate an update is available
  • Shared Admin pairing will fail if Home hubs are running pre-tvOS 16.5 beta software
  • Software updates for Matter accessories might be offered again even though the update already completed successfully
  • Pairing will fail if Shared Admin tries to perform the first pairing of a Matter accessory in a Home

I am surprised that it is letting me download 16.5 Developer beta. I think you all know why I thought it would not. I will see if it lets me install it. I didn't notice the size, but it is a long download.

16 is still using profiles and the switch.
17 however probably won’t show when available.

My guess is that we’ll get iOS 16.5 sometime in may, and then 16.6 aiming to be released around WWDC.

Maybe iOS 16.4.1 in a few weeks as well.

Why not? iOS 17 is EXACTLY six months away from a public release!
So iOS 16 has just reached the first half of its lifetime.

You cannot count the iOS 17 beta phase starting with WWDC as 99% of the users are running release software (one could easily forget that following the forums here as it seems 99% of the users here are running beta software). ;)
