I'm finding more and more lately the map data in Apple Maps has incorrectly listed speed limits. Sometimes it ten miles higher than the posted limit and sometimes its ten miles lower than the posted limit.
I’m noticing that it seems to be based on old data. There’s a highway near me that was raised 5 MPH higher several years ago. Google Maps updated soon afterwards. Apple Maps still shows the old speed limit.

Similar thing happened to my 14 PM. Was swiping up to unlock and everything froze half way up the swipe. Nothing would respond. Finally after about 60 seconds or so a small spinning circle appeared for a split second and Home Screen appeared. Only has happened the one time.
I was stuck on my Lock Screen, was about to restart but then I remembered you can still pull down the control center and open the camera app. Was able to get back into the rest of my apps after that

I have a 12 Mini with 81% capacity and have found the latest beta to be very good for battery life in general. Better than any release in the last year or so certainly

It’s so weird how it differs. My battery life is catastrophic on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. Looks like Find My is the culprit. Wonder if it is related to my AirTags
So true. Even just on one install/device. Now my battery life on 13 mini is outstanding whereas a short time ago/after honeymoon phase it was frustratingly crap? Idk man

Just another day with iOS 16.5 Beta 4... 🫠

While editing today's POTD, iPhone froze and could not exit out. Tried to exit out (Cancel) "Discard Changes" from the Photo App at least 5 times. iPhone stopped responding and would not let me exit out.

That’s just software. Every now and then it gibs out. If it continues to do the same thing repetitively, it’s probably a bug.

So one isolated incident just needs an app restart or phone.

My phone froze last week in control Centre, big deal. Hard restart and it hasn’t done it again since. That’s just how computers work.

🤷🏽

Catastrophic… 😆 slightly dramatic.

“involving or causing sudden great damage or suffering”

You’re on a beta, and it seems you’ve isolated the incident. Try things to rectify. Unpair and pair again. Reinstall the beta.

Or it might sort itself out on the final build.

I was unable to do anything. No pull down, no button or button combination, no restart, nothing. Wasn't near a pc, but that would have been my next step if it had not "cured" itself.

This most recent data seems to have broken Wi-Fi on my laptop. Every single device in my house works fine except for this one that I just completed the better update on. Very strange

iPad Pro 11
Safari

Had some Title Company docs I needed to review (Docusign)via a link from my Proton Mail.
The tab opens then freezes. Locks everything up. Had to kill Safari.

Hard reboot did not help.

Reported via Feedback.

IPad Pro 11 / 13 ProMax

Proton Mail has a new feature that can auto-forward gmail and handle it for you. Works great except it runs really slow and frequently freezes the device. Affects both the iPad and iPhone. Runs a little better on Safari but still laggy.

The Proton account runs fine on S23 Ultra, ThinkPhone, MBP, ThinkPad. Size fo the Gmail account was 4700 documents, Contacts, and Calendar.

Reported via Feedback
Reported to Proton.

Guess this is a case of welcome to 16.5 Pita 4.

Update: seeing postings in Reddit for the same issue for iOS.

On my 13PM they are at best an annoying barely felt feel.
Why do they keep changing it ... 😕
No issues with keyboard haptics on my 13 Pro Max. Any stronger, it would have been annoying and become an issue.

Doesn’t really matter. If Apple deems it, it gets installed no matter what you select.

Yes but having it checked means that you probably never even get informed (by your device) about it.

I was wondering why I had never seen anything prompting me to install this most recent one. Then I checked and saw that this option was selected. So it probably just installed the update in the background.

I have it unchecked as I like to see what it is. However …

You can uninstall these if they create a problem. But if they install without permission, does that mean they auto install again?
