I can't even ask Siri to call someone on a speakerphone and have it work correctly. Not expecting much at this point.
"Hey Siri, play that new serie Silo on the living room AppleTV"
- Okay, timer set for 9 minutes.

Was hoping for security updates, like a separate screen unlock code versus the master passcode for all the stuff on the iPhone. Maybe that comes in iOS 17.....
Apple Mail is broken, apparently since 16.4.yea for me 16.4 is horrible with lots of odd issues.... so here is to hoping.
iOS 9 on iPhone 4s and UI changes introduced in iOS 14 [app library and widgets on home screen] made me decide to selectively perform upgrade... My iPhone 7 Plus is still on iOS 15.6 RC even though iOS 15.7.5 is already available...why?
The changes between 16.2 and 16.5 have mostly been related to security so… Really in the end you’re only possibly hurting yourself…
I get not updating to new major new releases, but… boycotting bug fixes, that’s a new one.
Not to mention the Smart Folders are just TERRIBLE. A Smart Folder set to show only Unread Email, regardless of one folder or all folders or whatever, has ALWAYS been wrong for me. It's bad enough that the Mail app dumps you right into another Unread Email if you're currently looking at one and then delete it. But, from a Privacy Standpoint, if they're going to just show you another email without wanting to, they could at least get the Unread Folder count to be accurate.Apple Mail is broken, apparently since 16.4.
If you compose an email and attach PDF with more than one page, or a .Zip file, then save it as a draft, then try to open it on your iPad or iPhone, the attachments will not appear. Only one-page PDFs will appear. But you will notice there's an additional space in the message where the attachment icons are supposed to be. It's as if the icons are there, but invisible. This error didn't exist in iOS 16.1. Tested it on about 18 devices for 5 different user accounts.
I called Apple Support, and they just tried to distract me asking me non-sense questions read from a script. Even the escalation technicians did the same. They wanted me to Reset my iPad and restore it from backup (a time consuming task, as I have an App that will require me to manually re-download every piece of media that it uses).
I offered them to test it on a brand new iPhone 11 Pro, clean installation, but she said I needed to do it on the iPad because that's how the task was open. I had already spent about 4 hours with them, so I got tired of them.
Still a lot of bugs they haven't fixed like the low-res album art bug that's been in like 2 major OS versions.
Too often these news and discussion articles are only titled with just iOS mentoned instead of pointing out that if it wraps up with iOS 16.5 that means they all go public next week.Apple will likely release iOS 16.5 to the public next week, based on a protected Twitter account that has shared build numbers for several iOS updates up to a week before they were released. In a tweet today, the account said the upcoming iOS 16.5 Release Candidate for developers will have a build number of 20F65.
I really want iMessage contact key verification. At this point it seems like it will be an iOS 17 feature.
And support for shared Home admins to add Matter accessories to Home. One extra interesting thing about 16.5 is it introduces an update to Thread 1.3 in the beta.
... will only confirm the pointless things apple developers believe we want
Something is going on with your phone unrelated to the current version of iOS. I would check in the battery section and see what’s using so much. If you can’t figure it out, then perhaps erase and restart your phone as new. Make sure to have all your stuff backed up of course.Really hoping the battery life has been improved. My iPhone 14 Pro Max is struggling to hit even 6 hours from 0-100%.
That makes absolutely no sense.iOS 9 on iPhone 4s and UI changes introduced in iOS 14 [app library and widgets on home screen] made me decide to selectively perform upgrade... My iPhone 7 Plus is still on iOS 15.6 RC even though iOS 15.7.5 is already available...
Newer versions have security fixes, however I still prefer running Windows 7 and macOS Catalina than the newer versions, Windows 10/11 and Big Sur/Monterey [Ventura not officially available for MacBook Pro 2015]
I should have made it clearer... The poor performance of iPhone 4s with iOS 9 installed and the visual/UI changes introduced in iOS 14 that for me made it worse [widgets on home screen and app library]That makes absolutely no sense.
The iPhone 4s started on iOS 5, and ended up on iOS 9. That is a massive gap compared to 16.2 versus 16.5.
Also, both Big Sur and Monterey are still receiving security updates.
