I have reduced motion turned on because the whole fade in and fade out effect when you switch between apps makes me want to vomit and I am pleasantly surprised that my weather is animated now. It used to not be with reduced motion turned on. Maybe it’s a bug? Hope it stays.

Edit: damn seems to be a bug.

Updated to 16.6 last night. Having playback issues on AirPods Pro 2 this morning. Audio cuts out intermittently when phone is into pocket. Front pocket is useable, but not great. Back pocket is unusable. Audio continuously clips.

So far so good on 16.6. Everything snappy and smooth, haven’t had many issues overall on my 14 pro max on the last few versions of iOS 16 though.
Same here, iPhone 13 Pro. After 6 hours it seems to have drained a lot less battery considering the percentage I have left. But, well see after a few days, to early to tell now if it actually is better.

According to iAppleBytes this release has provided a general improvement in battery life on most devices, except iPhone 8 and 11, two devices that were extremely benefitted on the previous release iOS 16.5.1 (a) that now return to their usual rating.

I continue to be convinced that Apple doesn’t actually test anything before they release it anymore.

Dock doesn’t stay on screen in Stage Manager even when it is enabled to stay on scteen. New bug as of 16.6 (I skipped 16.5.1).

EDIT: Of course, it doesn’t work at all until I post here about it. Now out of the blue it works fine.

That's a ridiculous claim to make.

All software has bugs, not just iOS, despite testing.
Some of them are so blatantly obvious and infuriating the only explanation is they didn’t test it or willingly released crap.

What may seem simple to test, etc. the complexity of the software and the variety of usage makes testing everything almost impossible. Many of the errors that people report the majority of people don't see. Not saying I'd love to see no errors but that is life in these complex software/usage days

Has anyone seen an issue with GPS since this update? Waze and Google Maps are useless; Apple Maps doesn't seem to know where I am. Clicking the location arrow just ends up spinning indefinitely. If I reboot the phone, it works for my first trip, but then an hour or two later (when I go to use it again), it'll have me stuck at my last location.

Issue specifically started after updating to 16.6 and never had this type of problem before.

Is anyone noticing an improvement with iOS 16.6 the iPhone no longer going to “SOS only” in areas with heavy congestion? I’m wondering if the modem firmware update fixed it.

I went to a venue where my phone always goes to “SOS” repeatedly inside, even though there’s a DAS and mmWave. This is the first time in nearly a year that it kept working there!

Regarding Google maps, I had this issue yesterday, while i was on 16.6 B2 i think. I think it has something to do with the satellites, not IOS. I updated to the public 16.6 just now and will see how it works these days.

Unfortunately it's more than just Google Maps - Apple Maps and any other app that requires location no longer knows where I am. Strangely, HomeKit still knows when I'm home, although I'm not fully sure if that's due to me connecting to WiFi (it didn't turn on my lights when approaching home, only after I had gotten into the driveway)

I think I need an Apple Store visit :(

Would you please check if apps with your chosen settings are still visible under "Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services".
I'm worried that with iOS 16.6 the same "location services bug" as with macOS 13.5 has moved in...🙈

@All
Would be great if everyone with iOS 16.6 please check this and if you have any problems, post it here with iPhone model. Thanks!
