Why? It already works when in either orientation.

Or do you mean for the camera itself - to use in FaceTime etc?
The camera on the side in landscape mode always has a strange perspective when on facetime. the vast majority of people never use the iPad in portrait at all - the camera should be on the long side.

Are you effing KIDDING me? It didn’t have this before???

I didn’t know this was a thing. Just another reason to be disgusted at Apple’s unwillingness to finish existing features, and another strike against FaceID. I want them to give us the choice on all devices: you can have Face ID, but I want Touch ID!!

LONG overdue, like the ability to mark texts as unread. Better late than never.
There’s so much Apple does anymore that demands this “better late than never” excuse. It’s really irritating and it costs them my willingness to tell people “I think you should choose Apple over [whatever]”. I stopped actively recommending Apple stuff some time after iOS 9. I just can’t any more.

I have the 12 PM and the fact that it didn’t get it makes me upset. I can understand the X/XS not getting it but the 11/12?
It does seem silly but perhaps Apple tweaked something with the Face ID array when they sorta redid the notch with iPhone 13.

Anyone got it working on an iPhone 13 Pro Max? I’m not seeing a setting on mine, I’m on the beta.

So, can we hope for a Landscape mode Homescreen as well?
Just last week I saw Landscape Homescreen on the aging iPhone 7 Max of my sister and was stunned this existed on that model but was apparently removed for any later phone with FaceID.
I hope it comes back. FaceID not working in landscape is the reason it was taken away.

Can anyone confirm that Face ID will work in both landscape modes? Most apps default to the volume buttons on bottom. I always use landscape with volume buttons on top.
