They couldn’t just fix auto correct and predictive text? They had to go and add a new layout?
I often use the predictive text bar... by accidentYes the number row above the keyboard would be more helpful to me than the predictive text bars, which I rarely use.
Pretty much, there's a reason it's remained unchanged since the typewriter days...No one can learn a new layout, the normal one is stuck in our brains lol
You can do this with Swiftkey, presuming you don't consider installing a third party keyboard a hack.I'd just like to be able to throw the number row above the querty row (like Android) without some hack.

Well, if you already had it I suppose. But Microsoft recently pulled it from the App Store. You can do this with Swiftkey, presuming you don't consider installing a third party keyboard a hack.
Ha. I've been forcing myself to adjust to the nav bar at the bottom as well - makes sense from a usability/reachability standpoint. I'm getting there, slowly. 🤪Hmm, my sense memory still can't get used the nav bar being at the bottom of safari/search. A whole new keyboard? I'd need to live another century to adjust to that.
LOL Exactly my thoughts as well! This will be good for the dozens of Dvorak keyboard users.

We could, but we would have to make every keyboard we use that.No one can learn a new layout, the normal one is stuck in our brains lol
Typos are mostly probably caused by Apple designing the touch points and key design wrong. I don't know if you ever tried a Windows Phone, now or before, but they were designed differently resulting in greater accuracy without the need for auto-correct. BTW, Apple's auto-correct is ***** also, and is in need of much work.I'll try this out for a week and see how it goes. I've been making a lot of typos lately, so I guess this will force me to be more careful.
