I type anywhere from 120-130wpm on QWERTY. I can type about 15wpm on Dvorak. Never cared enough to learn the muscle memory of it I guess.

Very funky! Will be interesting to see how people manage with a single hand as many benefits of Dvorak's are based on a two-handed layout on a standard computer. Nice option though!
Most used letters are in center and not using lower row. One finger should be easier. I just looked on my iPhone and if you use two finger then it might be less useful since your fingers are going to be running into each other.

This might encourage me to try learning Dvorak on my BT mechanical keyboard, mostly as a brain strengthening exercise by training it to do something new.
Dvorak on Mac is great: I type way faster in Dvorak than I used to type in QWERTY.
Less strain on the fingers / hands too.

Also I type in Dvorak on my Mac and in QWERTY on iPhone.
So 10 fingers on Mac, two thumbs on iPhone.
I love it. I don't have a need for Dvorak on iPhone.

On Mac I use 'Dvorak - QWERTY' as keyboard setting.
That way shortcuts like command + C and command + V are still on the same position on the keyboard.

Dvorak on a real keyboard makes sense.
Dvorak on a screen-keyboard? Isn't it kind of bad for swiping, with all vowels and all main consonants cramped together on the same line (at least for English)?

Dvorak is the black coffee of keyboard layouts.
If we're going with drink analogies, Dvorak is more like some sort of vitamin-filled health drink that tastes like car exhaust and body odor. It's technically great, and if you manage to get used to it it'd be useful, but just about anyone who didn't grow up with it can't get past even the initial taste let alone stick with it long enough to get used to it.

I tried at one point to teach myself to type on a Dvorak keyboard and gave up in frustration after a few days. Whatever benefits there might eventually be to typing speed just weren't worth the huge amount of effort it was going to take to get comfortable using it.

No harm in having it available as an iPhone keyboard option, but out of the tiny handful of people who are actually using a Dvorak keyboard, I'd think they've all long since adjusted to using QWERTY on their phones.

The 3 people on Earth who use this shall rejoice.

Now how about give us a permanent number row. You know, stuff that people actually want.

I taught myself Dvorak years ago and used to switch between Dvorak and QWERTY; with Dvorak I was able to get over 120 wpm. I haven't used it in a while but maybe its something to try again with thumbs 😂. I'm also a violinist and pianist so I have good finger control.

As for iOS keyboard layouts, I sometimes find that when entering email addresses, that something as basic as the @ sign is not even available on the main layout --- and you have to go hunting for it. That seems a fairly basic thing to fix after 16 versions.

Dvorak? I knew someone who had one of those. They hated people using their desk because it was closer to the center of the office, and that stopped it cold. Like when I was in math classes in college and people would ask to borrow a calculator. I had an HP 10c. Most people had no clue how to work it. (There was one class where the guy next to me was fluent in RPN and really liked using it. He got the idea why I was loaning it out and laughed. I also had a 12c, and a 15c that I used most. Then had a 48SX which I still have. The 10c died years ago, sadly.)

Ooohhhhhhh Happy Day!!! It's about bloody time 🎉
I learned to type on a Dvorak layout back in the '90s. I always thought it was crazy that it would be available on my computers but not on my phone. Especially since none other than the High Nerd of All Nerdliness Woz himself uses the Dvorak layout. I am pleased.

I would like for the return key to be smaller on the default keyboard.

I find myself hitting it way too much recently.

I've played with this a bit and it seems like the home-row-centric layout is more awkward with thumbs.
