I was seriously looking forward to add my vitamins and supplements (as I track all my foods) but it’s basically useless for it. For one it can’t scan any of the barcodes for my supplements and manual search is trash for them as well, then there’s the boneheaded decision that vitamins added do not show up in the previous health app spot for vitamins (under nutrition) but only live in the medication category. For instance if I add vitamin D3 to medication and “take it” and then look at vitamin D under nutrition, nothing is there. What? Even worse is that it gives me an option for a D3 + K2 supplement but only logs the D3 dosage and not K2 which is a separate dosage. WTF Apple.

Hope there will be an option to make the medication alerts more subtle. I really do not need or want to tell the world I take medication.

Well that's very disappointing. I was looking forward to doing the same thing.

Does any one know if the activities app in ios16 integrates better with third party trackers?

I use a Garmin fenix for running swimming and hiking, and switch back to apple watch when not working out. I use Rungap to sync garmin data with apple health, but lose steps and stand counts. I also use the fenix for sleep tracking but looks like apple has caught up with sleep stages in the new ios

Would be great if steps and non workout movement data from the Garmin could be included in the rings.

would be particularly useful during vacations I use the fenix for most of the day when on the beach or hiking

While I definitely look forward to these features, I do think Apple is going (too) far here and adding things that could easily have been taken care of by third party apps.

If they keep adding stuff to their OS, it will keep the lawsuits coming.

I am disappointed by how you describe it behaves. I'm hoping you submitted this feedback through the Beta channels? for the slim chance they still have time to fix this before release.

Mind everyone that the entire medication feature will be available exclusively in the US.

I CANNOT GET FITNESS.APP TO SHOW ME JUST THE ONE (MOVE) RING, IT SHOWS ALL 3 AND DOESNT COUNT ANY ACTIVITY.

Sorry for the all-caps, it's just that I've asked a bunch of times before and havent gotten any response.
I had the AppleWatch and the Fitness+ service for a bit. I've disconnected the watch and removed it from my account, the fitness+ service is also expired/not active. But my Fitness+ app (which I've reinstalled a number of times since) shows me the three regular rings (as if I had a watch) and of course the rings are all empty because there is not watch to pull the info from. Tried doing a test workout with Nike Running Club, it shows up in Fitness as a workout, but I don't think I got any Move minutes or calories or anything from it. Anyone have any idea how to get this to work?
Some questions:
1. Are you using the beta on your phone?
2. Assuming that you are using the beta, do you realise that these are beta versions that may not work well yet?

The health app with medication tracking should also be on the iPad. Those of us who take them are usually at home on bigger devices at med times (after meals, hour of sleep, on an empty stomach).

It's not, it's just limited from what I've been told. You have to enter the medication manually but the other parts work in the EU too.
Thanks for the update but I think the medication interactions and side effects part can't work because the nesessary information is not available to the app for medication from outside the US.

I'm looking forward to this feature and am tempted to go ahead and install the beta on my iPhone. I take a lot of medicine, and it comes in plastic strips instead of bottles. Would I be able to scan the printing on the strips with the new app or would I have to enter the information manually?

Yes, Vitamin is nutrition for as long as early Health app. I am tracking it now on iOS 15. Everything has to be done manually. No notification.

Seems like it will be helpful for older people to remind them and help them track medication. That's a plus.

Id like to see reminders really reminding me endlessly until I actively check the reminder. As for now it only reminds me once to take my medicine.

I don't like that Apple is building these things in. Apple should provide APIs for third party apps instead. Reason I say this is that Apple doesn't always provide the same depth of implementation as some third party apps in the sleep tracking. With iOS16 we are finally seeing Apple catch up a bit, but they are not nearly on par with third party apps even with iOS16.

1. Yes.
2. Yes of course.
But there is often a solution or a workaround to many software problems, im just looking to see if someone has any advice or input as I haven’t been able to find one so far.
