Like Android, Apple will let users enable vibrations on the native stock iOS keyboard for each tap, providing a physical confirmation for users as they type.

Apple says these vibrations help serve as a "confirmation" as a user types. The new feature is part of a broader slate of changes coming to the keyboard on iOS 16, including support for 19 new languages in Emoji search and improvements to the experience for Chinese users.

iOS 16 is a massive release for the iPhone that lets users entirely customize their Lock Screen and changes across the system. Apple just wrapped up WWDC, so be sure to stick around for MacRumors for full coverage of all the new updates and announcements.

For me, this is totally unnecessary.

It just requires more battery usage, unless you really need to have the haptic feedback.

I’m wondering if you use your phone in ‘low power mode’, will this automatically disable the haptics. Because if you think about it, this would just be another category for battery drain with the haptic feedback enabled. We’ll find out in beta.

I don't know how i feel about this. I develop on android regularly and i find the feature to be a little annoying because it relies on the short vibrations, so the vibrations don't feel immersive. it just feels like the phone is vibrating every time i tap it. On the other hand, apple has a great haptic engine so it could feel more solid. I'm interested to try it.

Christ…. Finally.
If done like some of my old Android phones (ie not too strong and in the right place) then this is a good thing. Shame on Apple for taking so long to copy it.

All right, I'm in no hurry but I will try it when iOS 16 comes out.
Try it with Grammarly app. Trust me, you are going to love it. I'm just happy Apple is bringing it.
