I wouldn't be surprised by a 16.0.3 release, especially since on 16.0.2 on my iphone 13 pro I'm experiencing random weird screen flickering when I wake up the phone in total darkness or low light. Even so, they are very sporadic, but they do not stop giving you a scare when it happens. In the end, everything will depend on the priority that Apple has given to some errors that exist even when it plans to release iOS 16.1.

Have this as well on my 13 Pro but it happens very randomly with beta 16.1

Yeah agree. Can’t see them changing their beta pattern so far.

16.1 b4 today and 16.0.3 Wednesday/Thursday
I dunno! When everyone was still saying we'd get a beta release on "the usual" Tuesday or Wednesday, we'd get ANOTHER Monday beta.. Who knows! Up is down, green is orange, Apple likes to mess with us..

I'm going with the 16.0.3 release today and then 16.1 b4 tomorrow...

Likely going to be the other way around.
If 16.0.3 is ready it'll be released ASAP due to it fixing bugs which are present in the public release of iOS. I'd imagine they'd hold up just about anything to get that fix to their customers. Hell - this could see a rare Friday release if they finished it in time.

However - it's likely still in a QA process internally and in all likelihood is not ready for release yet. So I agree with you that we see 16.1 today - but not because Apple wouldn't bump it to release 16.0.3 - just that 16.0.3 isn't ready yet.

You are making a lot of potentially unwarranted assumptions here. There is no indication that these are critical fixes; they may simply be convenience fixes. Also, we have no idea where it is internally and have no way of knowing unless we worked there (which I can say, I do not).

What iOS 16 bugs are you talking about? I have been running iOS 16 since PB3 on my 12 mini and IMO it works rather well by now. The only thing I can complain about is slow joining already known WiFi networks, otherwise not bad at all.

Also Homepods have a major bug on audioOS 16.0 (already reported), where if you log out of your Apple Music account in the home app you cant log back in without factory resetting the pods. It either times out or shows an error.

Not sure why then would bother making and releasing an out of band update if they weren’t critical fixes?

3rd party apps still have focusing issues on the 14 series which makes scanning QR codes and barcodes annoying.

Mainly with the new phones and AirPods.

I speculate 16.0.3 today, beta 4 for 16.1 at 1 PM (Dev) and 4 PM (Pub) Eastern respectively tomorrow. Mileage may vary......

There is still plenty of bugs to be fixed in iOS 16.
