I would say that this news greatly increases the chances of a drop today.
Edit: nevermind. Next week.
iOS 15.1.1 released on November 17th last year so that might the time we get 16.1.1
I thought the same as well, but everyone was making it seem like it was immanent so I was giving the benefit of the doubt with next monday

Wow! It's like crickets 🦗 today. Last day tomorrow, otherwise it will be next week.
Yeah Thursday is not out of question. Especially for a release of 16.1.1. Quite common day for iOS releases. Suspect beta will be next week tho unfortunately.
I wonder if this is still coming in November.

Today would be a good day for a beta to be dropped. But realistically I think no new beta until next week. One can hope. Fingers are crossed 
We should all be careful what we wish for. We could get some really buggy broken build and be stuck with it over the holiday break.
