Looks like maybe tomorrow will see the development ball get rolling again, but I wonder: Which will get released first, 16.1.1 or 16.2 beta 2 (I’m guessing the former)?

Rest assured, we are definitely getting something tomorrow.

JMO beta 2 tomorrow and if Ios 16.1.1 isn't released Wednesday we may not see it until Monday. Apple is still testing it and it didn't sound like it is a urgent update.

Why in the world would they not release a software update just because it is election day in USA? And btw, places other than USA exists...

Being based in the US, Apple tends to follow US holidays. Not unreasonable….

Many large companies give their employees all or part of the day off on Election Day to encourage voting. As noted above, however, Apple is open for business on Election Day, but allows their employees to take time to go to the polls.

The thinking expressed by others is that Apple might not release the beta today as a result.

My thinking is that this will have no impact, as the work is already done.

Election Day in the US is not a holiday. There have only been suggestions to do so.
