It's that time of year where iOS updates are just "meh"....Starting to get anxious about iOS17 ;)

But new work laptop coming today! I asked for the world but have no clue what they are actually sending, so that's something to look forward to!

Oh, and although I agree with you about the “meh” nature of most updates this late in the game, the X.4 updates always have some little nuggets tossed in to keep us interested.

On the "low" end, I was always happy with a Surface. Always had good luck with them, easy to travel with and use on the plane.

On the high end, hoping for a loaded Razer so I can play WarZone while I travel...hah!
You have to let us know what you get... Now we're invested in this.... And since Apple decided to stop dropping betas we need some form of entertainment around here.

It would be very odd to see a full week go by after a major point release, and not see the next beta release. Also considering most betas tend to release on a Tuesday or Wednesday more so than Mondays, Thursdays, or Fridays, and we got nothing yesterday, I'm going with today in about 3 hours and 20 minutes.

Samsung Event Today, Tom Brady Retires (Again)- I think today will be the day!

Do you think Apple is petty enough to have held this beta and release it on Samsung's event day? to take away some of press... I know its just a beta and it shouldn't compare to hardware releases... but any Apple release gets a ton of tech coverage no matter how small. Even if they just add new emojis, the coverage is wild.

The Samsung event is at 10AM PST which is when updates usually drop. It's not really "petty" IMO, if it's even done deliberately. I think there's plenty of "room" for both to happen.

Yes, optimized charging needs the important places to work. What I think you can do is that once they have been collected and you see that the optimized charging is activated, disable their collection without deleting the history, to see if it continues to work.
in my case, the collection of important places does not have any impact on the autonomy of my device.
I have Significant Locations turned off with zero locations saved and optimized charging works fine for me, wired or wireless charging. I charge my device overnight 97% of the time so not sure if it still works if you don't have a regular charging routine.

A Beta release wont really take away from their event and if it does, then that should say something about their devices

What do you think? 😉

After all the dunking on Apple that Samsung has done (as they count the money Apple pays them for OLED displays, I might add!)?

(No, I don't really think this. Apple releases when their calendar - likely set 12-15 months ago - says they're going to release. This is not a bunch of people sitting around a table and saying "Look! We can scoop Samsung with this inconsequential beta release! Score!!!!")
